EDD payment shows paid but Money Network card not loaded after 3 days - should I panic?

I certified for my weekly benefits on Sunday morning and checked my UI Online account yesterday - it shows 'PAID' status for $583 as of Tuesday afternoon. But I've checked my Money Network card balance religiously every few hours and there's still NOTHING there! It's now Thursday and I'm starting to panic. I thought payments usually hit the card within 24-48 hours after showing paid? Is anyone else experiencing delays with their Money Network deposits this week? This is my first time using this card system (was on direct deposit before) and I've got rent due next week. Should I be worried or is this normal processing time? When should I start calling EDD?

chill out its probly normal. my payments usally take like 3 business days to hit my money network card even when edd shows paid. the website says up to 72 hrs

Thanks for responding! When you say 3 business days, does that mean if it showed paid on Tuesday, I shouldn't expect it until Friday? The EDD rep never explained the timeline when they switched me to this card.

EDD payments to Money Network cards typically take 48-72 business hours after showing 'paid' status in your UI Online account. Since you mentioned it showed paid on Tuesday afternoon, you should expect it by Friday afternoon at the latest. Money Network processes transfers in batches, so sometimes there's an extra day compared to direct deposit. One important thing: have you activated your Money Network card yet? You absolutely need to activate it before funds can be deposited. If you haven't, call the number on the back of your card immediately.

Yes, I activated it as soon as I got it about 2 weeks ago. I've been obsessively checking the Money Network app. I guess I'll try to be patient until tomorrow afternoon. It's just stressful when you're counting on that money!

MY MONEY NETWORK CARD HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS!! Last month they said my payment was sent but it took almost 5 days to show up!!! The customer service for Money Network is TERRIBLE too. I spent 45 minutes on hold just to be told 'it's processing' with no explanation why it takes so long when EDD already says PAID. Don't even get me started on those ATM fees...

I know it's frustrating, but Money Network transfers are actually pretty consistent once you understand their schedule. Payments that show as paid on Monday-Wednesday typically hit the card by Friday. Thursday-Sunday payments usually hit by Tuesday. The delay is annoying but predictable.

This just happened to me last week! I was freaking out because my payment showed 'paid' but didn't appear on my Money Network card for almost 4 days. I finally called EDD to check if there was a problem with my claim and after trying for three days I got through to someone who confirmed everything was fine and it was just normal processing time. Have you tried calling to confirm? Getting through to a real person at EDD made me feel so much better.

I had the same experience! Calling EDD is impossible though. After dealing with busy signals and disconnects for days, I found this service called Claimyr that got me through to an EDD agent in less than 30 minutes. I was super skeptical but it actually worked - they have a demo video at https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km showing how it works. The rep confirmed my payment was still processing and would be on my card within 72 hours, which it was. Worth it for the peace of mind.

I had this happen when I first switched from direct deposit to Money Network too. It's definitely slower! Just some advice - once your money does arrive, you might want to set up a transfer from your Money Network card directly to your bank account rather than waiting on the card balance. You can do this through the Money Network mobile app. Much more convenient and fewer fees than using the card for everything.

YES THIS!! The transfer feature saved me so many headaches. Just be aware that the bank transfer takes ANOTHER 1-2 business days after you initiate it. This whole system is designed to be as slow and frustrating as possible!

I work in banking (not for EDD or Money Network) and can clarify a bit how this works. When EDD shows "paid," they've initiated an ACH transfer to Money Network, not directly to your card. Money Network then has to process that incoming payment and credit it to your specific card account. This two-step process is why there's a delay. The standard timeframe is 2-3 business days after showing as "paid" in the EDD system. Since you mentioned it showed paid on Tuesday, I'd expect it Friday at the latest. If it doesn't arrive by Monday, then you should definitely contact EDD.

Thank you for explaining this! No one at EDD bothered to tell me about this two-step process. Money actually hit my card this morning (Friday) - exactly 3 business days after showing paid. I'll know not to panic next time. Really appreciate everyone's help!
