Money Network card transfer to bank account missing - no confirmation or deposit

I just started receiving unemployment benefits last month and activated my Money Network card when it arrived last week. Yesterday I tried to transfer $1,850 from the card to my Chase checking account. The Money Network portal showed the transfer was initiated, but I didn't get any email confirmation like it said I would. It's been almost 24 hours and the money hasn't shown up in my bank account yet. The funds are no longer showing on my Money Network balance though! Has anyone dealt with this? How long did your first bank transfer take? I'm freaking out a bit because I need this money for rent due on Friday. Should I call Money Network or EDD about this? Anyone have experience with missing transfers?

First transfers from Money Network to your bank typically take 3-5 business days, not 24 hours. It's completely normal! The Money Network system processes the transfer request immediately (which is why your balance shows the deduction), but the ACH transfer to your bank follows standard banking timelines. Don't panic - your money isn't lost. If you need funds faster in the future, I recommend: 1. Setting up direct deposit for all future payments 2. Using the Money Network card directly for purchases 3. Withdrawing cash at in-network ATMs You should receive an email confirmation though - check your spam folder. If you don't see it by tomorrow, then call Money Network support at the number on the back of your card to verify the transfer details.

Thank you so much! I've been checking my spam folder and still nothing, but knowing the 3-5 day timeframe helps a lot. My landlord is usually understanding so hopefully it arrives before the weekend. Do you know if weekends count as business days for these transfers?

That's reassuring to hear it showed up eventually! Did you end up calling anyone about it or just waited?

The Money Network system is TERRIBLE! I've had nothing but problems with it since they switched from BofA cards. My first transfer took 6 business days to show up and their customer service kept giving me different information each time I called. One rep said 2-3 days, another said 5-7 days. Then they tried to blame my bank! The whole UI Online and Money Network setup is designed to make it difficult to access YOUR OWN MONEY. And don't get me started on their horrible app that crashes every other time you use it. My advice: once your money finally arrives, set up direct deposit for future payments and avoid the Money Network card completely!!

This!!! The whole Money Network system is a joke. I had issues for MONTHS. Direct deposit is the only way to go.

This happens all the time with first transfers. The Money Network card operates on a slightly different timeline than standard bank transfers. Here's what you need to know: - Initial transfers typically take 3-5 business days (weekends and holidays don't count) - Subsequent transfers are usually faster (2-3 business days) - Missing confirmation emails are a known issue with their system - The money will still arrive even without the confirmation email If you need to reach EDD to verify your claim status or ask about your Money Network card setup, I'd recommend using Claimyr (claimyr.com). They'll connect you with an EDD representative quickly instead of spending hours redialing. They have a video demo showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km I was in your exact situation last year and spent days trying to get through the regular EDD phone system. Claimyr got me connected within 25 minutes.

Thank you for this detailed explanation! That service sounds helpful - I'll check out the video. Do you think I should wait the full 5 business days before trying to contact EDD about this?

Yes, definitely wait the full 5 business days before contacting EDD. In most cases, the money arrives without any intervention needed. If it doesn't show up by day 6, then I'd recommend contacting Money Network first (number on back of card), and only if they can't help would I contact EDD.

Had the same problem in February! Money Network is notoriously bad with their transfer communication. For me, I never got any confirmation email, but the money appeared in my checking account exactly 4 business days later (so Thursday transfer showed up Tuesday morning). One important thing I learned: the cutoff time for same-day processing is 1pm Pacific. If you initiated your transfer after that time, add another day to the expected timeline. I'd also check that you entered your account number and routing number correctly in the Money Network portal. If there's an error there, the transfer will fail and the money will be returned to your Money Network account, but that takes 7-10 business days! Don't worry too much yet - this is unfortunately normal with their system.

I didn't know about the 1pm cutoff! I definitely did my transfer around 7pm, so that might add another day. I triple-checked my account info when I entered it, so hopefully that's not the issue. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Just wanted to share something I discovered recently - Money Network actually has two different transfer methods in their system, which they don't explain clearly. There's: 1. Standard ACH transfer (3-5 business days, no fee) 2. Expedited transfer (1-2 business days, $15 fee) The default is standard ACH, which is probably what you used. If you need money faster next time and can afford the fee, look for the "expedited" option when initiating the transfer. It's hidden in the transfer options menu. Also, direct deposit is definitely the way to go for future payments if you're planning to be on unemployment for a while. You can set it up in UI Online under Payment Preferences.

I had no idea there was an expedited option! Definitely would have paid $15 to get my rent money faster. Thanks for this tip. I'm going to set up direct deposit as soon as I get into my UI Online account again.

my cousin works at bank of america and he says these government benefit transfers always take longer than regular bank transfers because they go through extra verification steps. something about fraud prevention. so its normal that it takes like 4-5 days instead of the usual 1-2 for regular transfers

UPDATE: The money finally appeared in my account this morning! Took exactly 4 business days. Never got an email confirmation from Money Network, but the money is there. Thanks everyone for your help and reassurance! I'm definitely setting up direct deposit for future payments to avoid this stress.

Great to hear! Yes, direct deposit is much more reliable. You can set it up in your UI Online account under the "Payment Method" section. Takes about 10 minutes to complete and will apply to all future payments.
