Money Network card transfer to bank account missing - no confirmation or deposit

I just started receiving unemployment benefits last month and activated my Money Network card when it arrived last week. Yesterday I tried to transfer $1,850 from the card to my Chase checking account. The Money Network portal showed the transfer was initiated, but I didn't get any email confirmation like it said I would. It's been almost 24 hours and the money hasn't shown up in my bank account yet. The funds are no longer showing on my Money Network balance though! Has anyone dealt with this? How long did your first bank transfer take? I'm freaking out a bit because I need this money for rent due on Friday. Should I call Money Network or EDD about this? Anyone have experience with missing transfers?

First transfers from Money Network to your bank typically take 3-5 business days, not 24 hours. It's completely normal! The Money Network system processes the transfer request immediately (which is why your balance shows the deduction), but the ACH transfer to your bank follows standard banking timelines. Don't panic - your money isn't lost. If you need funds faster in the future, I recommend: 1. Setting up direct deposit for all future payments 2. Using the Money Network card directly for purchases 3. Withdrawing cash at in-network ATMs You should receive an email confirmation though - check your spam folder. If you don't see it by tomorrow, then call Money Network support at the number on the back of your card to verify the transfer details.

Thank you so much! I've been checking my spam folder and still nothing, but knowing the 3-5 day timeframe helps a lot. My landlord is usually understanding so hopefully it arrives before the weekend. Do you know if weekends count as business days for these transfers?

omg i had the EXACT same issue last month!!! the money eventually showed up after 4 days but i was panicking the whole time. no email confirmation either. money network is so annoyying tbh

That's reassuring to hear it showed up eventually! Did you end up calling anyone about it or just waited?

i just waited it out. calling them is useless anyway, they just tell u to wait

The Money Network system is TERRIBLE! I've had nothing but problems with it since they switched from BofA cards. My first transfer took 6 business days to show up and their customer service kept giving me different information each time I called. One rep said 2-3 days, another said 5-7 days. Then they tried to blame my bank! The whole UI Online and Money Network setup is designed to make it difficult to access YOUR OWN MONEY. And don't get me started on their horrible app that crashes every other time you use it. My advice: once your money finally arrives, set up direct deposit for future payments and avoid the Money Network card completely!!

This!!! The whole Money Network system is a joke. I had issues for MONTHS. Direct deposit is the only way to go.

This happens all the time with first transfers. The Money Network card operates on a slightly different timeline than standard bank transfers. Here's what you need to know: - Initial transfers typically take 3-5 business days (weekends and holidays don't count) - Subsequent transfers are usually faster (2-3 business days) - Missing confirmation emails are a known issue with their system - The money will still arrive even without the confirmation email If you need to reach EDD to verify your claim status or ask about your Money Network card setup, I'd recommend using Claimyr (claimyr.com). They'll connect you with an EDD representative quickly instead of spending hours redialing. They have a video demo showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km I was in your exact situation last year and spent days trying to get through the regular EDD phone system. Claimyr got me connected within 25 minutes.

Thank you for this detailed explanation! That service sounds helpful - I'll check out the video. Do you think I should wait the full 5 business days before trying to contact EDD about this?

0 coins

Yes, definitely wait the full 5 business days before contacting EDD. In most cases, the money arrives without any intervention needed. If it doesn't show up by day 6, then I'd recommend contacting Money Network first (number on back of card), and only if they can't help would I contact EDD.

Had the same problem in February! Money Network is notoriously bad with their transfer communication. For me, I never got any confirmation email, but the money appeared in my checking account exactly 4 business days later (so Thursday transfer showed up Tuesday morning). One important thing I learned: the cutoff time for same-day processing is 1pm Pacific. If you initiated your transfer after that time, add another day to the expected timeline. I'd also check that you entered your account number and routing number correctly in the Money Network portal. If there's an error there, the transfer will fail and the money will be returned to your Money Network account, but that takes 7-10 business days! Don't worry too much yet - this is unfortunately normal with their system.

I didn't know about the 1pm cutoff! I definitely did my transfer around 7pm, so that might add another day. I triple-checked my account info when I entered it, so hopefully that's not the issue. Thanks for sharing your experience!

If u set up direct dpst to ur bank acnt instead of the EDD card u won't have this problm anymore! I switched aftr my first paymnt and now it goes straight to my acct every 2 weeks no waitng

Just wanted to share something I discovered recently - Money Network actually has two different transfer methods in their system, which they don't explain clearly. There's: 1. Standard ACH transfer (3-5 business days, no fee) 2. Expedited transfer (1-2 business days, $15 fee) The default is standard ACH, which is probably what you used. If you need money faster next time and can afford the fee, look for the "expedited" option when initiating the transfer. It's hidden in the transfer options menu. Also, direct deposit is definitely the way to go for future payments if you're planning to be on unemployment for a while. You can set it up in UI Online under Payment Preferences.

I had no idea there was an expedited option! Definitely would have paid $15 to get my rent money faster. Thanks for this tip. I'm going to set up direct deposit as soon as I get into my UI Online account again.

my cousin works at bank of america and he says these government benefit transfers always take longer than regular bank transfers because they go through extra verification steps. something about fraud prevention. so its normal that it takes like 4-5 days instead of the usual 1-2 for regular transfers

UPDATE: The money finally appeared in my account this morning! Took exactly 4 business days. Never got an email confirmation from Money Network, but the money is there. Thanks everyone for your help and reassurance! I'm definitely setting up direct deposit for future payments to avoid this stress.

Great to hear! Yes, direct deposit is much more reliable. You can set it up in your UI Online account under the "Payment Method" section. Takes about 10 minutes to complete and will apply to all future payments.

yay! glad it worked out!

So glad to see your update that the money came through! This is exactly why I always tell people in this community not to panic during those first few days. The Money Network system is frustrating with the lack of email confirmations, but the transfers do eventually process. For anyone else reading this thread who might be in a similar situation - here's a quick timeline breakdown based on what I've seen: - Day 1: Transfer initiated, funds removed from Money Network balance - Days 2-3: Transfer processing through ACH system - Days 4-5: Funds typically appear in your bank account The key thing to remember is that business days don't include weekends or holidays, so if you initiate a transfer on Friday evening, you're basically starting the clock on Monday. Definitely get that direct deposit set up ASAP - it eliminates all this stress and the money hits your account automatically every two weeks!

This is such a helpful breakdown! I wish I had seen this timeline before I started panicking. The business days thing is really important to understand - I was counting the weekend in my head which made me think something was wrong. Thanks for taking the time to explain this for future people who might have the same issue!

I'm so relieved to see your update that the money came through! I'm actually going through this exact same situation right now - initiated a transfer yesterday and have been checking my bank account obsessively every few hours. Reading through all these responses has really put my mind at ease knowing this is totally normal. The lack of email confirmation from Money Network is seriously stressful when you're dealing with rent money! I had no idea about the 1pm cutoff time either - I did my transfer around 9pm so I'm probably looking at an extra day. Question for anyone who's set up direct deposit - how long does it take for that to kick in once you submit the change in UI Online? I want to make sure I get it set up before my next certification so I can avoid this whole Money Network transfer dance in the future. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - this community is a lifesaver when you're navigating the EDD system for the first time!

Hey @Jace Caspullo! I totally understand that obsessive bank account checking - I was doing the same thing every hour! From what I've read in other threads here, direct deposit changes usually take effect within 1-2 certification periods once you submit the request in UI Online. So if you set it up now, it might not apply to your very next payment, but should definitely be active for the one after that. The good news is that once you go through this stressful Money Network transfer experience once, you'll know exactly what to expect if you ever need to do it again. But hopefully you'll have direct deposit sorted out soon and won't have to deal with this anymore! Hang in there - your money will show up in the next few days just like everyone else's did. The waiting is the worst part!

0 coins

@Jace Caspullo I just went through the direct deposit setup process last week after my transfer finally came through! It was actually pretty straightforward in UI Online - took about 5 minutes to enter my bank info and routing number. The system told me it would take 1-2 payment cycles to take effect, so you re'probably looking at 2-4 weeks depending on when your next certification is due. One thing I learned is that you can actually keep your Money Network card active even after setting up direct deposit, just in case there are any issues with the bank transfer. The card will just stop receiving deposits once direct deposit kicks in. I feel you on the obsessive account checking! I was refreshing my banking app every 30 minutes. The waiting really is the hardest part, but based on everyone s'experiences here, your money should definitely show up within the next couple of business days. Stay strong!

@Jace Caspullo I m'in the exact same boat as you right now! Just did my first transfer two days ago and have been refreshing my bank app constantly. Reading through everyone s'experiences here has been such a relief - especially knowing that 4-5 business days is completely normal even though it feels like forever when you re'waiting. The 1pm cutoff info was news to me too. I did my transfer around 6pm, so I m'definitely looking at that extra day. At least now I know what to expect instead of wondering if something went wrong! For the direct deposit question - I called EDD last week about this and they told me it typically takes 1-2 payment periods to switch over once you submit the change. So if you set it up now, it probably won t'affect your very next payment but should be active for the one after that. Definitely worth doing though to avoid this stress in the future! Thanks to everyone who shared their timelines and experiences - this thread is going to save so many people from unnecessary panic!

I'm going through this exact same thing right now! Started my transfer from Money Network to my credit union account yesterday afternoon and have been anxiously waiting. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been incredibly reassuring - especially knowing that 3-5 business days is totally normal even though the Money Network portal makes it sound like it should be much faster. The lack of email confirmation is really frustrating when you're dealing with money you need for bills! I triple-checked my routing and account numbers when I set it up, but that little voice in your head still wonders if you made a typo somewhere. @Zainab Ibrahim - so glad your money finally came through! That 4 business day timeline seems to be pretty consistent based on what everyone's sharing. I'm definitely going to set up direct deposit once this transfer goes through so I don't have to deal with this stress again. Has anyone had experience with transfers to credit unions specifically? Wondering if they might take a bit longer than the big banks like Chase since they sometimes use different processing systems.

0 coins

@Ava Johnson I actually had my first Money Network transfer go to a local credit union and it took the full 5 business days, so maybe one day longer than the Chase/big bank experiences people are sharing here. Credit unions do sometimes have different ACH processing schedules - some only process incoming transfers once or twice a day instead of continuously like the major banks. But the good news is it did arrive exactly when expected! The waiting is definitely nerve-wracking, especially when you need the money for bills. I found it helped to remind myself that the money had already been deducted from my Money Network balance, which means the transfer was successfully initiated on their end. You re'smart to set up direct deposit after this - I did the same thing and it s'been so much less stressful. No more counting business days or checking my account every few hours!

I went through this exact same situation when I first started getting unemployment benefits! The Money Network system is really confusing about transfer timelines - they make it sound like it should be instant but it definitely takes several business days. My first transfer took exactly 4 business days to show up in my Bank of America account, and like you, I never received any email confirmation despite the system saying I would get one. The money was deducted from my Money Network balance immediately but then just sat in processing limbo for what felt like forever. A few things that helped me during the wait: - Remember that weekends don't count as business days - The cutoff time for same-day processing is 1pm PT (learned this the hard way) - You can log into Money Network and check the transfer status under "Transaction History" I know it's stressful when you need the money for rent, but based on everyone's experiences here, your transfer will definitely go through. The system is just slower than they advertise. Once you get through this first transfer, definitely consider setting up direct deposit in UI Online - it eliminates all this uncertainty and the money just appears in your account automatically every two weeks. Hang in there! Your money should show up by early next week at the latest.

@Liam Fitzgerald Thank you for mentioning the Transaction History feature! I didn t'even think to check that - just logged into Money Network and can see my transfer is showing as Processing "which" is actually really reassuring. At least I know it s'in the system and moving along. The 1pm cutoff is such important info that Money Network really should make more obvious. I initiated mine around 8pm so I m'definitely looking at that extra day, but now I know for any future transfers though (hopefully I ll'have direct deposit set up soon and won t'need to deal with this again .)It s'amazing how this thread has turned into such a helpful resource for people going through the same thing. When you re'dealing with rent money, even a few days feels like forever, but seeing everyone s'consistent 4-5 day timelines is really putting my mind at ease. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I'm currently dealing with this exact same situation and this thread has been incredibly helpful! Just initiated my first Money Network transfer three days ago and have been checking my account obsessively. The lack of email confirmation really threw me off, but seeing that this is a common experience with their system makes me feel so much better. What really helped me was logging into the Money Network portal and checking the Transaction History like @Liam Fitzgerald mentioned - seeing "Processing" status at least confirms the transfer is moving through their system. The 1pm cutoff information is also super valuable - I had no idea about that timing! For anyone else going through this stress, I found it helpful to write down the exact business day timeline so I could stop second-guessing myself: - Day 1 (transfer day): Funds deducted from Money Network - Days 2-3: ACH processing - Days 4-5: Should appear in bank account The waiting is definitely the hardest part when you need the money for bills, but everyone's consistent experiences here show the system does work - it's just slower than advertised. I'm definitely setting up direct deposit as soon as this transfer completes! Thanks to everyone who shared their timelines and tips. This community is such a lifesaver when navigating EDD for the first time!

@Elijah Jackson I m'so glad this thread has been helpful for you! I just went through this exact same anxiety spiral last week with my first transfer. The business day timeline you wrote out is spot-on - that s'exactly what I experienced too. Day 4 was when my money finally showed up. The Transaction History tip is gold! I wish I had known about that feature earlier because seeing Processing "status" would have saved me so much worry. I was convinced something had gone wrong when I didn t'get the confirmation email. You re'absolutely right about setting up direct deposit ASAP. I just completed the process in UI Online yesterday and even though it won t'kick in for another payment cycle or two, I feel so much better knowing I won t'have to go through this transfer stress again. The direct deposit setup is actually pretty straightforward - just takes a few minutes to enter your bank details. Hang in there! Based on everyone s'experiences here, your money should definitely appear in the next day or two. The waiting really is the worst part, but the system does work eventually!

Just wanted to jump in as someone who's been through the Money Network transfer stress multiple times! This thread is such a perfect example of how helpful this community can be when you're dealing with EDD issues for the first time. A few additional tips I've learned from my experience: - Screenshot your transfer confirmation page before leaving the Money Network site (even without email confirmation, this gives you a reference number) - If you're really anxious, you can call your bank to verify they haven't received any pending ACH deposits - sometimes they can see incoming transfers before they post to your account - The Money Network customer service number on the back of your card can at least confirm your transfer is processing if you need peace of mind The 4-5 business day timeline everyone's mentioned is definitely accurate. I've done probably 6-7 transfers over the past year and it's been consistent every time. The first one is always the most stressful because you don't know what to expect! @Zainab Ibrahim I'm so glad everything worked out for you and that you're setting up direct deposit. That really is the way to go - no more counting business days or wondering where your money is. Once you have direct deposit active, your benefits just appear in your account like clockwork every two weeks. Thanks for starting this thread - it's going to help so many people who find themselves in the same situation!

@Amina Diallo These are such practical tips! I wish I had thought to screenshot the confirmation page - that s'brilliant for having a reference number. The tip about calling your bank to check for pending ACH deposits is really smart too. I never would have thought of that but it makes total sense that they might be able to see incoming transfers before they actually post. This whole thread has been such an education on how the Money Network system actually works versus what they tell you to expect. The community knowledge here is invaluable - especially for people like me who are completely new to unemployment benefits and had no idea what timeline to expect for transfers. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences and timelines. It really does help knowing that other people have gone through the exact same stress and everything worked out fine!

I'm dealing with this exact same situation right now and this entire thread has been such a relief to read! I initiated my first Money Network transfer yesterday evening and woke up this morning panicking because there was no email confirmation and no money in my account yet. Reading everyone's experiences with the 4-5 business day timeline has really calmed my nerves. I had no idea about the 1pm cutoff either - since I did my transfer around 9pm, I'm probably looking at that extra day in processing. The tip about checking Transaction History in the Money Network portal was a game changer! Just logged in and confirmed my transfer shows as "Processing" which is so much more reassuring than just wondering if something went wrong. @Zainab Ibrahim thank you for posting about this - knowing I'm not alone in this stress has been incredibly helpful. And congratulations on your money finally coming through! I'm definitely going to set up direct deposit as soon as this transfer completes so I never have to go through this anxiety again. This community is amazing for sharing real experiences and practical advice. The business day breakdown that several people provided is going to help me stay sane while I wait for my transfer to complete!
