EDD Money Network card missing - account not found when calling customer service

I'm really stressed about my Money Network card situation. I was supposed to receive my new card two weeks ago, but nothing's shown up in my mailbox. Today I called the Money Network customer service (855-282-6161) and the rep couldn't find my account using my SSN or phone number! She just kept saying "no record found" after trying multiple times. I double-checked all my contact info in UI Online and everything is 100% up-to-date. Currently on a 2+ hour hold with EDD to sort this out, but I'm starting to panic. My rent is due next week and I have $5,200 in benefits that I can't access! Has anyone dealt with this specific issue? What happens if your Money Network card never arrives and they can't even find your account in their system? I'm worried my benefits are just floating in limbo somewhere.

I had a similar issue last month! The trick is that Money Network sometimes has your info under a slightly different spelling or your previous address. When you reach an EDD rep, specifically ask them to confirm EXACTLY how your name/address appears in their system that they sent to Money Network. In my case, they had my middle initial when I didn't use one when calling Money Network. Also ask the EDD rep to confirm your BIC (Benefit Identification Code) - you'll need to provide that to Money Network along with your exact info. That's how I finally got them to locate my account.

Thank you! I didn't even think about name formatting differences. Do you know if the EDD can force Money Network to expedite a replacement card once they confirm my info? I literally can't wait another 7-10 business days.

I haven't moved in 3 years and my address has been the same in the system the whole time. That's what makes this so frustrating!

MONEY NETWORK IS THE WORST!!! I've had nothing but problems since they switched from BofA. Their system is constantly glitching and their customer service people don't have access to half the info they need. I've had THREE cards not arrive and had to keep requesting replacements. Each time they swear they sent it. EDD doesn't care either - they just keep telling you to call Money Network who tells you to call EDD. It's a nightmare!!!

I've actually had a decent experience with Money Network after the initial setup. Their mobile app is WAY better than the old BofA one, and I can do mobile check deposits now. But their card delivery system does seem really hit or miss.

Here's what's probably happening: There's a known issue where some accounts weren't properly migrated from the old BofA system to Money Network. I work with UI claimants, and I've seen this several times in the past few months. What you need to do: 1. When you finally reach an EDD rep, ask them to verify your card status in their system. They need to check if a "prepaid account creation" was successfully processed. 2. If it shows "pending" or "failed" on their end, they need to submit an urgent ticket to their technical team. 3. Get a confirmation number for this ticket. 4. Ask the rep to note in your file that you authorize them to release your correct information to Money Network. 5. Request a callback from an EDD specialist who handles Money Network issues (they exist!). In the meantime, you can request that your benefits be sent via paper check as a temporary measure - this takes about 7-10 days but at least gets your funds released from limbo. Just be very clear with the rep that this is an urgent financial hardship situation.

This is incredibly helpful info! I just got off a 3 hour hold with EDD and they told me to "just keep calling Money Network" which was useless. I'm going to call back tomorrow and specifically request these steps. Thanks for the detailed guidance - I had no idea I could request a paper check as a backup option.

Have you tried checking your card status on the Money Network website instead of calling? Sometimes the phone reps can't find accounts but the website works fine. Go to moneynetwork.com/edd and use the "Check Card Status" feature. You'll need your Claim ID from UI Online (not your social) plus your date of birth.

I tried the website first actually, and got an error message saying "unable to locate account information." I tried different browsers too. Same issue - it's like my account doesn't exist in their system.

Getting through to EDD is basically impossible these days. I've been trying for WEEKS and always get the "we're experiencing high call volume" message before they hang up. Have you tried using Claimyr? It's a service that basically calls EDD for you and gets you in the queue, then calls you when they have a rep on the line. Saved me tons of time and frustration. Their site is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km. Worth it when you have urgent issues like missing funds.

I've never heard of this service but I'm definitely going to check it out. I wasted my entire day on hold just to get unhelpful advice. At this point I'd try anything to actually reach someone who can solve this Money Network issue.

@username8 They don't need any of your EDD login info - they just help connect the call. You still talk directly to EDD yourself.

Just following up - were you able to get this resolved? Another option I forgot to mention is visiting an America's Job Center (AJCC) in person. They can sometimes expedite these kinds of issues by connecting with EDD liaisons directly. Bring your ID and any EDD correspondence you have.

Partial success! I used Claimyr to get through to EDD yesterday and explained the issue. The rep confirmed my account WAS created in Money Network but with my name misspelled (they had "Micheal" instead of "Michael"). Once I called Money Network back with the exact spelling they had, they found my account immediately! Card should arrive next week, and they're expediting it. Thanks everyone for the help - this thread literally saved me from a financial disaster.
