How long until EDD debit card arrives after payment shows 'paid'?
Just had a breakthrough with my unemployment claim! After filing 3 weeks ago and then going through a phone interview with EDD, my account FINALLY shows 'paid' status as of today. Super relieved but now I'm wondering about the actual Money Network debit card - anyone know how long it takes to arrive after your claim shows paid? Is there a way to track the card delivery? First time dealing with unemployment and I'm getting anxious about accessing the funds since rent is coming up soon. Thanks for any insight!

The Money Network debit card typically takes 7-10 business days to arrive after your first payment shows as 'paid' in the system. They don't provide tracking for security reasons, but you can call Money Network directly at 1-866-692-9374 to check on your card status. If it's been more than 14 days, definitely call them as they might need to reissue it. Congrats on getting approved!

•Thank you! That timeline helps a lot. Do you know if they send any kind of email notification when they mail it out? Getting a bit paranoid about missing mail these days.

I WAITED THREE WEEKS for my card and EDD kept saying it was mailed but nothing ever came!! Called Money Network 4 TIMES and they said it was sent. Turns out my apartment number wasn't on the address in the system so it got returned!!! Triple check your mailing address in UI Online RIGHT NOW before they try to mail it! The system is TOTALLY broken!!!

If you're worried about timing and need to speak with someone at EDD about expediting your card or checking its status, try using Claimyr (claimyr.com). I was stuck waiting for weeks, couldn't get through the phone lines, then found their service. They got me connected to an EDD rep in under 20 minutes who confirmed my card was being processed and gave me the exact timeline. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km. Saved me a ton of stress when I was in your situation.

•Is this actually legit? I've been calling EDD for 3 days straight and can't get through. Does anyone else have experience with this service? Sounds too good to be true with how impossible EDD is to reach.

•Yes it works! I used it last month when my certification was stuck pending. Got through to a rep who fixed it on the spot. Way better than hitting redial for hours.

One more important thing - once you get your card, immediately set up direct deposit through the Money Network app or website if you have a bank account. It's much faster for future payments (1-2 days vs waiting for funds to load on the card). Also, create an online account with Money Network as soon as you receive the card so you can monitor payments and transfers.

•That's really good advice! I do have a checking account I'd prefer to use. Is the direct deposit setup complicated? I've heard some people have issues with it.

•It's pretty straightforward! You'll need your bank routing and account numbers. Just be careful to double-check the numbers when you enter them. The system will make you verify everything twice. Most issues happen when people enter incorrect account info. Once it's set up correctly, it works reliably.

•THIS!!! Mine was in a totally unmarked envelope from Tennessee and I almost tossed it! No EDD markings at all - it's a SERIOUS design flaw in their system!!!

I'm in a similar situation! Been certified for 2 weeks, payment says paid, but still no card. I was told by an EDD rep that first-time cards take longer than replacement cards. Has anyone received theirs faster than the 7-10 day estimate? I'm getting worried because I've got bills coming due next week.

•If you're in a financial emergency situation, you can request an expedited card from Money Network. Call them directly and explain your situation. They can rush a card to you in 3 business days, but you'll have to be very clear about the urgency. You may need to speak with a supervisor to get approval.

Update: Just wanted to thank everyone for the advice! I called Money Network this morning and confirmed my card was mailed out yesterday. They verified my address was correct (phew!) and said I should have it by next Wednesday. I'll be carefully checking my mail and will set up direct deposit as soon as I get it. This forum has been so helpful - much better than the official EDD info!

•Glad to hear it! Once you get your card, don't forget to activate it immediately and set a PIN. And definitely set up account alerts so you're notified when new payments post to your account.

Great update! Really glad Money Network was able to confirm everything for you. One more tip - when you do get your card, make sure to keep the envelope and any paperwork that comes with it. There's usually a customer service number and important info about fees that you'll want to reference later. Also, some ATMs charge fees for the Money Network card, so look for fee-free ATM locations (they usually list them on their website). You're almost there!

•Thanks for the ATM tip! I hadn't thought about fees yet. Do you know if there's a limit on how much you can withdraw per day from the Money Network card? I'm hoping to get most of my funds transferred to my regular bank account once I set up direct deposit, but good to know about fee-free options in the meantime.
