How long to receive Money Network debit card after EDD claim approval?
Finally got my unemployment claim approved last week after waiting almost a month! The payment status shows 'paid' in my UI Online account but I still haven't received the actual Money Network debit card in the mail. Does anyone know how long it typically takes for the card to arrive these days? It's my first time on unemployment and I'm getting anxious since my rent is due next week. Do they send any kind of tracking info or notification when they mail it out?

•Thanks! Did you get any email or notification when they shipped it?

It's supposed to come within 7-10 business days after your first payment shows as 'paid' in the system. But I've heard people waiting anywhere from 5 days to 3 weeks depending on mail delivery in your area. They don't provide tracking unfortunately. If it doesn't arrive within 10 business days, you should call EDD to report a lost/never received card.

•Got it, I'll wait the full 10 business days before panicking. Fingers crossed it comes sooner!

When you log into UI Online, go to 'Payment Activity' and see if your payment method shows Bank of America or Money Network. If it's Money Network and shows 'paid' status, the card should be on its way. The Money Network cards are white with a blue stripe, so watch for that in your mail. Don't throw away any official-looking envelopes! If it doesn't arrive after 12 business days (not counting weekends/holidays), you need to call the Money Network customer service at 1-888-393-5866 to request a replacement. But warning: they'll deactivate your first card, so if it arrives after you report it missing, you won't be able to use it.

•Super helpful, thank you! It does show Money Network and 'paid' status from 5 days ago. I'll keep checking my mailbox religiously.

I NEVER GOT MINE! Waited 3 weeks then had to call and request a new one which took ANOTHER 7-10 days. The EDD system is completely broken. And good luck actually reaching anyone on the phone to help you if it doesn't show up!

•Same thing happened to me! I finally had to go through Claimyr.com to connect with an EDD agent because I kept getting the "maximum callers reached" message when I tried calling myself. They got me through to a rep in under 20 minutes and the agent was able to verify my address and expedite a new card. There's a video of how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km. Saved me so much stress after waiting nearly a month for my card that never arrived.

The first payment usually triggers the card to be mailed out. Make sure your address is 100% correct in UI Online. They won't forward the cards for security reasons, so if there's any mistake in your address, it'll be returned to sender and delay things even more. Double check everything even down to the apartment number.

•Just double-checked my address in the system and everything looks correct. Hoping it's just taking its time in the mail!

Also worth noting that you can switch to direct deposit if you don't want to wait for the card in the future. Just need to set it up once you have access to your Money Network account. The card will still come first though.

•Oh that's good to know! I'd much prefer direct deposit. Will definitely set that up once I get the card and can access my account.

anyone know if u can pick up the card somewhere instead of waiting for mail?? like at edd office or something?

•No, unfortunately you can't pick up the card in person anywhere. Money Network (not EDD) handles the debit cards, and they're all sent through the mail. The only way to speed things up is if you call Money Network directly and request expedited shipping on a replacement card, but that costs extra and they'll only do it after your original card is reported lost or stolen.

I'm in the same boat right now - got approved 4 days ago and checking my mailbox obsessively! From what I've read on other forums, it seems like most people get theirs between 7-12 business days. The waiting is the worst part especially when you have bills due. One tip I saw was to sign up for USPS Informed Delivery so you can see what's coming in your mail each day - at least that way you'll know if it's on the way before you get home to check your mailbox.

•That's a great tip about USPS Informed Delivery! I just signed up for it - didn't even know that was a thing. Hopefully we both get our cards soon. The waiting really is the worst part when you're already stressed about money.

Just wanted to give you some hope - I got my card exactly 6 business days after my payment showed "paid" status! I was in the same situation last month, super anxious about rent and bills. The card came in a plain white envelope from "Bank of America EDD Debit Card Services" so make sure you don't accidentally toss it thinking it's junk mail. Once you get it, you can activate it online or by phone and your funds should be available immediately. Hang in there, it's coming!

•This gives me so much hope, thank you! Six days would be perfect timing. I'll definitely keep an eye out for that plain white envelope - almost threw away what looked like junk mail yesterday but caught myself. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here, makes the waiting a lot less stressful knowing others have been through the same thing.

I just went through this exact situation about 6 weeks ago! Mine took 9 business days to arrive after my payment showed "paid" in UI Online. I was literally checking my mailbox twice a day because I was so worried about missing rent. The envelope is pretty nondescript - just says "Bank of America EDD Debit Card Services" on it, so definitely don't throw away any official-looking mail! One thing that helped my anxiety was calling the automated EDD phone line (1-866-333-4606) where you can check your payment status 24/7. Even though it doesn't tell you when the card shipped, it confirmed my payments were processed correctly. Also, once you do get the card, make sure to activate it right away - I was able to use it at an ATM within 10 minutes of activation. The waiting is brutal but it will come!

•Thank you so much for sharing your experience! That automated phone line tip is really helpful - I didn't know about that option. I've been obsessively refreshing my UI Online account but having a phone number to call 24/7 for peace of mind is great. Nine days isn't too bad, hopefully mine comes around the same timeframe. I'm definitely being extra careful about checking all my mail now after reading everyone's warnings about the plain envelope. Really appreciate all the support from everyone here - this community has been a lifesaver during such a stressful time!

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Got approved 3 days ago and my payment shows "paid" but no card yet. Reading everyone's experiences here is so reassuring - sounds like 7-10 business days is pretty normal. I'm in LA and really hoping it doesn't take the full 3 weeks some people mentioned. Already signed up for USPS Informed Delivery after seeing that tip here. The anxiety is real when you're counting down to rent day! Thanks everyone for sharing your timelines and tips about watching for that plain white envelope.

•I'm in the exact same situation! Got my claim approved 6 days ago and payment shows "paid" but still anxiously waiting for the card. Being in LA too, I'm really hoping we're on the faster side of that 7-10 day range. The USPS Informed Delivery has been a game changer - at least now I know what to expect in my mail each morning instead of just hoping. This thread has been so helpful for managing the anxiety. Fingers crossed both our cards show up soon! The waiting game is brutal when bills are looming.

I just wanted to share my recent experience to give you some reassurance! I got my EDD claim approved 2 weeks ago and was in the exact same panic mode about when my Money Network card would arrive. Mine ended up taking exactly 8 business days from when my payment showed "paid" status. I'm in the Bay Area for reference. The envelope really is super plain looking - almost threw it away thinking it was some random bank marketing mail! Once I activated it online, all my back payments were available immediately. The worst part is definitely the waiting and not knowing, but based on everyone's experiences here, you should be getting yours any day now. Hang in there!

•This is exactly what I needed to hear! I'm also in the Bay Area so 8 business days gives me a good timeline to expect. It's so helpful to know that all the back payments were available immediately after activation - I was wondering about that part too. The description of the plain envelope is super helpful since I've been paranoid about accidentally tossing important mail. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience, it really helps calm the nerves when you're in the thick of waiting and worrying about bills!
