EDD payment timing after certification - still waiting after 3 days
I just certified for my UI benefits on Sunday morning (around 8am), and it's now Wednesday afternoon and still nothing in my account. My claim status shows 'paid' in the portal but my Money Network card hasn't received any deposit. Is this normal? In previous weeks it seemed to hit my card within 24 hours of certifying. Should I be worried or is the system just backed up? This is only my third certification period so I'm still figuring out the patterns. Anyone know how long it typically takes for the money to actually become available after certification shows 'paid'?

•Thanks, that's reassuring. I just get nervous because my rent is due Friday and I was counting on this deposit to clear in time.

The standard timeline for EDD payments after certification is: 1. Certification submitted 2. Status changes to "paid" within 24-48 hours 3. Money Network card receives deposit 24-72 hours after status changes to paid So the total timeline can be 2-5 days from certification to having funds available. Since you certified Sunday and it already shows "paid," you're right on schedule. The Money Network system sometimes processes deposits in batches, especially during high-volume periods. As long as your UI Online account shows "paid," you should receive funds by tomorrow or Friday at the latest.

•This is super helpful, thank you! I didn't realize there could be such a big gap between the "paid" status and the actual deposit. I'll try to be more patient.

•Easy to say when YOUR bills aren't due! Every day matters when you're counting pennies!

Have you checked both the Money Network app AND website? Sometimes the app doesn't update right away but the website shows the pending deposit. Also, make sure your card is still active - mine expired without me realizing it once and I panicked when funds weren't showing up.

•I've only been using the app! I'll check the website right now, thanks for the tip.

If you need to reach EDD to check on your payment status, I highly recommend using Claimyr (claimyr.com). I wasted days trying to get through to an agent before finding them. They got me connected to an EDD rep in about 20 minutes when I had a similar payment delay. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km. Seriously saved my sanity when my payment was stuck in the system.

•Does this actually work? I'm always getting the 'max callers reached' message when I try calling

•Yes, it did for me. They basically keep dialing for you and only connect you when they get through to an actual agent. Saved me from having to redial manually for hours.

Did u switch to direct deposit? The new direct deposit option takes longer than Money Network the first couple times u use it. EDD is still tying the systems together and sometimes payments get stuck in verification for extra days when going to bank accounts. If ur still using Money Network card it should appear by Thursday night tho.

•No, I'm still using the Money Network card. I thought about switching to direct deposit but wasn't sure if it would cause delays. Sounds like I made the right choice for now!

Just a follow-up about the Money Network timing: if you certified early Sunday morning, your payment likely was processed in Monday's batch. Money Network typically receives the funds Tuesday, then takes 1-2 business days to make them available on your card. So Thursday is actually right on schedule. One tip: try setting up alerts in the Money Network app. This way, you'll get a notification as soon as funds are deposited.

•Just got the deposit notification a few minutes ago! Looks like you were exactly right about the timing. I'll definitely set up those alerts for next time. Thanks again for the help!

this one time i certified and it said paid but money didnt come for TWO WEEKS!! found out there was a flag on my account for "excessive earnings" even tho i only reported like $120 from my side gig lol. EDD is weird sometimes but if urs already says paid ur probably fine
