EDD payment delays after certification - still waiting after 5 days
I certified my hours on Sunday morning around 10am and it's now Friday and still nothing has been deposited to my Money Network card. I thought payments were supposed to be processed within 24-48 hours after certifying? My claim status shows 'paid' in the UI Online portal but no money has actually hit my account. This is only my second certification period so I'm not sure if this is normal or if something's wrong. Anyone else experiencing delays with their payments after certification? How long does it typically take for the money to show up after the system says 'paid'?

I was having the same issue until I discovered Claimyr. It's a service that helps you connect with an EDD agent directly instead of dealing with the automated system. I was frustrated after waiting nearly a week with my claim stuck in 'paid' status but nothing on my card. Called through Claimyr (claimyr.com) and got connected to an agent in about 20 minutes who fixed the issue right away - there was a hold on my payment they needed to manually clear. Check out their demo video if you're interested: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km

•Thanks for the suggestion! Before I try that - does anyone know if 5 days is actually normal? Or should I be worried something's wrong with my payment?

•So it eventually came through without you having to do anything? That's somewhat reassuring at least.

This is actually quite common, especially for newer claims. While the EDD system shows 'paid' status almost immediately after processing your certification, the actual transfer to your Money Network card typically takes 2-3 business days. Since you certified on Sunday, you should normally expect the funds by Wednesday or Thursday at the latest. Since it's now Friday and you still don't have your payment, it would be reasonable to contact EDD. Check these things first: 1. Verify that your Money Network card is activated 2. Check if there are any alerts or messages in your UI Online inbox 3. Make sure your payment method is properly set up in the system If everything looks correct, calling EDD directly is your best option. Their payment transfer system sometimes has delays that only an agent can identify and resolve.

•I HATE when people say to "just call EDD" like it's easy!!! I spent THREE DAYS last month trying to get through. Called 47 times one day and never got past the "we're experiencing high call volume" message. The whole system is BROKEN!!

Congrats on getting the "paid" status! I've been stuck on pending for THREE weeks! Count yourself lucky lol

In my experience, the timing varies depending on your bank and payment method. Here's what I've observed: - Direct deposit to a bank account: Usually 1-2 business days after status changes to 'paid' - Money Network card: 2-3 business days typically, but can take up to 5 business days sometimes - First payment after claim approval: Often takes longer than subsequent payments Since this is only your second certification period, that might explain the delay. My first payment took 6 days to appear on my card, but now they're consistently available within 2 days of certification. If you certified Sunday morning, and today's Friday, that's 4 business days (Mon-Thu), which is pushing the typical timeframe but not yet unusual enough to panic. If nothing appears by Monday, definitely contact EDD as there might be an issue with your Money Network card or a payment block that needs clearing. The online status showing 'paid' is a good sign - the money is allocated, it's just in transit somewhere in the system.

have u checked ur money network account online? sometimes the card balance on the website updates before the automated phone system. also there was a holiday on monday so that might add an extra day for processing. my payments are usually in my account exactly 2 days after i certify but holidays mess everything up

•I didn't even think about the holiday! That's a good point - maybe that pushed everything back a day. I have been checking the Money Network site directly, not just the automated system. I'll give it until Monday before I really start worrying. Thanks!

Just following up - did your payment come through over the weekend? If not, Monday morning would be the time to contact EDD. One additional tip: when you do reach an agent, ask them to verify that your Money Network card information is correctly linked in their system. Sometimes there can be a mismatch that causes delays.

•Great news! The money finally hit my account this morning. Looks like it was just delayed because of the holiday weekend. Thanks everyone for your help! For future reference for anyone else: even though my UI Online showed 'paid' on Sunday, it took until the following Saturday morning for the money to actually appear on my Money Network card. So almost a full week.
