EDD missed my scheduled 1-3pm appointment yesterday. No call, no update. What now?
I applied for unemployment and they gave me an appointment yesterday from 1-3 pm but no one called. I'm trying to find out the status of my claim. Has anyone else had this happen? What should I do now?

Ugh, that sucks. I've been there too. The EDD is a total mess rn. Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare but sometimes you can get through if you keep trying.

•I've been trying to call all morning but keep getting a busy signal. It's so frustrating!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59am. Sometimes you can get through before the lines get jammed.

•Good advice! Also, try calling on Wednesdays. For some reason it seems easier to get through mid-week. 🤷♂️

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds sketchy. Is it legit? 🤔

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•How long did you have to wait for the callback?

•It took about 2 hours for me, but I've heard it can vary. Still way better than trying to call yourself all day!

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Write down the date and time of your scheduled appointment. 2. Try calling the EDD main line (1-800-300-5616) first thing in the morning. 3. If you can't get through, use the online portal to send a message about your missed appointment. 4. Check your spam folder to make sure you didn't miss any emails from EDD. 5. If all else fails, contact your local state representative's office. They often have liaisons who can help with EDD issues. Don't give up! The system is overwhelmed but keep pushing. Good luck!

lol welcome to the club 🤡 EDD is a joke. I've been waiting 3 months for my claim to be processed. The whole system needs an overhaul.

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes they update the status there without actually calling. Also, make sure your contact info is up to date in the system.

•I just checked and there's no update. Everything looks the same as before. 😞

•Dang, that sucks. Keep an eye on it tho, sometimes they're slow to update the system.

This happened to me last month! I ended up having to refile my claim because apparently it got lost in their system or something. Such a headache. 🤦♂️

Anyone else notice that the EDD seems to be getting worse instead of better? You'd think after all this time they'd have figured out how to handle the volume by now. SMH

•For real tho. It's like they're stuck in the stone age or smthn. How hard is it to upgrade their systems? 🙄

•I heard they're still using computers from the 80s. No wonder everything's so slow!

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the phone, try reaching out to EDD on Twitter. Sometimes they respond faster there. Worth a shot!
