Got control number but no one on line when calling unemployment office - what to do?

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my control number for unemployment. I got it this morning but when I tried to call and give it to them, no one was on the line. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do now?

Ugh, that sucks! I had a similar issue last month. Have you tried calling back? Sometimes the lines get disconnected or theres a glitch in their system.

Yeah, I tried calling back but kept getting stuck on hold forever. It's so frustrating!

Classic unemployment office 🙄 Their phone system is a joke

I feel ya. It took me like 3 days of constant calling to finally get through. Hang in there!

I found a way to get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Dx2idC_6ku8

Sounds too good to be true. Is it legit?

Yep, totally legit! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

How long did it take for them to call you back?

0 coins

It took about 45 minutes for me, but I've heard it can vary depending on how busy they are. Still way better than being stuck on hold yourself!

Have you tried faxing your info? I know it sounds old school, but sometimes it works when the phone lines are jammed.

control numbers are only valid for like 48 hours or something. make sure you call back ASAP before it expires!

Oh no, I didn't know that! Thanks for the heads up, I'll keep trying today.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this for months: 1. Keep calling persistently. The best times are usually early morning or late afternoon. 2. Use the online portal if possible. Sometimes you can submit info there without calling. 3. Document everything. Write down who you talked to, when, and what they said. 4. If all else fails, contact your local representative's office. They can sometimes intervene. 5. Join Facebook groups for your state's unemployment issues. They often have good tips and updates. 6. Be prepared with all your info when you call. Have your SSN, claim ID, and employment history ready. 7. Stay calm and polite with the reps. I know it's frustrating, but they're usually trying their best. Hope this helps! Don't give up, you'll get through eventually.
