EDD claim disconnected mid-process - What to do when new claim doesn't show up?
Has anyone else had their claim disconnected mid-process? I was talking to an agent about opening a new claim and confirming my monthly benefit amount when we suddenly got cut off. Now I'm worried because the website doesn't show any new claim. I need to make sure it went through and find out how much I'll be getting. This is so frustrating! Anyone know what I should do next?

Has anyone tried tweeting at the EDD? Sometimes public shaming works wonders π

For those of you experiencing disconnections, a potential reason could be the high volume of calls EDD receives daily. This overloads their system, leading to technical difficulties. While incredibly frustrating, it's important to remain patient and persistent. Documenting every interaction and considering alternative methods, like emailing or using claim assistance tools like Claimyr, can be beneficial. Always ensure you follow up on any promises or information provided by EDD agents.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep calling back until you get through. It sucks, but persistence is key. 2. Document everything. Write down who you talked to, when, and what they said. 3. Check your UI Online account daily for updates. 4. If nothing shows up after a week, file a new claim online. 5. Consider reaching out to your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help push things through. Remember, the EDD is swamped right now, so everything's moving slower than usual. Hang in there!

Have you tried faxing your info? Sometimes that works better than calling or using the website. Old school, I know, but it got my claim unstuck!

Something that worked for me was sending a physical letter to their office explaining my issue. It seemed to speed up the process.

β’Interesting approach! Might just give that a try if all else fails.

β’Old school methods for the win! Sometimes, you gotta go back to basics.

Have you tried checking your UI Online account? Sometimes it takes a day or two for new claims to show up in the system. If it's not there after 48 hours, you'll probably need to call back.

Same boat here. The EDD system is a joke. I swear they disconnect on purpose to avoid helping us. π€¬

Hey OP, what time of day were you calling? I've had the best luck getting through right when they open at 8am. Set your alarm and be ready to dial!

I heard there's a new EDD app in development. Has anyone else heard this? Could be a game-changer if it actually works.

β’If they do it right, it could definitely streamline things. But I'm not holding my breath just yet.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

β’Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

β’$20? That's steep. Why should we have to pay to get help we're entitled to? π€

β’I get the skepticism, but it's 100% legit. Used it twice now. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Ugh, that happened to me last month. It's the worst! I had to call back and start all over again. Took me like 3 days to get through π«

Another thing you might consider is using Claimyr, a service that helps you connect with EDD agents more efficiently. While some users have reported success with it, keep in mind it does come with a fee. Understandably, it can be frustrating to pay for a service that's supposed to be provided to you without cost. Assess your situation and decide if the potential time saved is worth the expense.

β’I've used Claimyr before and it worked well for me. But I totally get why some people wouldn't want to pay. It's a tough call!

Pro tip: Always get the name and ID number of the agent you're talking to. That way, if you get disconnected, you can ask for them specifically when you call back. It's saved me so much hassle!

Guys, I just saw on the news that EDD is upgrading their systems next week. Might wanna wait till after that to call again. Could solve some of these issues (or make everything worse lol
