EDD UI pending after phone interview - no payment yet. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I filed for unemployment and had a phone interview scheduled, but I haven't received any payment yet. My UI is still pending. Has anyone else experienced this? How long did it take for your benefits to start after the interview? Any advice would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel ya. I was in the same boat a few months ago. It took about 3 weeks after my phone interview for my benefits to start coming through. Hang in there!

3 weeks?! 😩 That's so long. Did you have to do anything to follow up, or did it just magically start working?

Nah, I just waited it out. But I know some people who had to call and bug them. The system's a mess rn

3 weeks? You got lucky! I've been waiting for 2 months now. This is ridiculous.

Make sure you keep certifying for benefits every week, even if you haven't been paid yet. That way, when they do approve you, you'll get backpay for all those weeks.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Have you checked your UI online account? Sometimes there's additional info or forms they need you to fill out. It's not always clear unless you dig around in there.

I've been checking it obsessively lol. Nothing new there, just says 'pending' 😕

The EDD is so backed up right now, its insane. I've heard they're still processing claims from months ago. Your best bet is to keep trying to get through on the phone. Good luck!

Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way. Also, try calling on Wednesdays - for some reason it seems to be their least busy day.

This! 💯 Wednesday morning calls are the secret sauce

Here's what worked for me: 1. Keep certifying every week 2. Call early in the morning (like 7:59 am) 3. If you can't get through, try the askEDD feature on the website 4. Check your spam folder for emails from EDD 5. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes expedite things. Hang in there, OP. The system is frustrating, but persistence pays off!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try all of these. Fingers crossed 🤞

Contacting your assembly member is key! They helped me break through the bureaucracy when I was stuck for months.

Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds old school, but sometimes that gets faster results than uploading online. Just a thought!
