EDD Certification Stuck on Pending - Need Help Getting Through to a Real Person
Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my unemployment certification. It's been stuck on pending for a while now and I can't figure out why. I tried emailing them but they just told me to contact them directly. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get through to a real person?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been in the same boat for weeks now. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to get any help. Have you tried calling early in the morning? I heard that's the best time to get through.

•Early morning calls are hit or miss tbh. I've had better luck calling right before they close. Less people trying to get through then.

•I've tried both early morning and late afternoon. No luck either way. It's like playing the lottery 🎰

•Thanks for the suggestions! I'll give both a try and see if I can finally get through to someone.

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda sketchy. How do we know it's legit?

•I get the skepticism, but I can vouch for it. Used it twice now and got through both times. Beats spending hours on hold or calling back a hundred times.

•Just tried it and it actually worked! Got through to an agent in about 45 minutes. Worth every penny tbh.

Have you checked your UI Online account for any messages or requests for additional information? Sometimes they need more docs and don't make it obvious.

I swear the EDD system is held together with duct tape and prayers at this point. 🤦♂️ Good luck getting through, OP. You're gonna need it.

•Duct tape and prayers 🤣 That's the most accurate description of EDD I've ever heard!

Here's what worked for me: 1. Call exactly at 8:01 AM 2. If you hear 'thank you for calling,' hang up and redial 3. If you hear music, you're in! 4. Press 1, then 2, then 4 It took me about 20 tries but I finally got through. Hope this helps!

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help push things through faster.

•This! My assemblyman's office was super helpful when I was stuck in EDD limbo for months.

•I hadn't even thought of that. How do I find out who my assembly member is?

•Just google 'find my california assembly member' and enter your address. They usually have a form on their website for EDD issues.

Unpopular opinion: maybe try going to the EDD office in person? I know it's a pain, but sometimes face-to-face is the only way to get things done with these bureaucrats.

•Bold of you to assume they even let people in anymore 😂

•I tried this last month. Waited 3 hours just to be told to go home and call the number. Total waste of time.
