Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my unemployment certification. It's been stuck on pending for a while now and I can't figure out why. I tried emailing them but they just told me to contact them directly. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get through to a real person?
Hey everyone, I just got disqualified from unemployment and I have no idea why. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do next?
Hey everyone, I'm about to start my unemployment claim and I'm feeling a bit nervous. I've heard it can be a real hassle. I'm planning to wait a couple days to see if things go through on their own. Anyone have any tips or experiences to share? I'm worried about messing something up or having to deal with long wait times.
Quick question for anyone who's been through this recently - are they still requiring the extra identity verification steps? I heard they added some new requirements and I'm trying to prepare.
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my checks and I think there might be some fraud involved. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm not sure if it's a problem with receiving the checks or if there's something fishy going on with the amounts. Any advice would be appreciated!
Hey everyone, I just got a text saying EDD closed last night and I'll get a call when they open again this morning. I need to check if I qualify for extended benefits. Anyone else in the same boat? What should I expect when they call?
Here's what you need to know about extended benefits: โข They're only available when unemployment is high in your state โข You must have exhausted your regular unemployment insurance โข Your benefit amount might be different from your regular UI โข You'll need to continue certifying for benefits weekly โข They may ask about your job search efforts Be prepared to answer questions about why you think you qualify. Have you been actively looking for work? Did you turn down any job offers? These things can affect your eligibility. Also, keep in mind that the rules for extended benefits can change based on state and federal laws. What was true a few months ago might not be the case now. Good luck with your call! Let us know how it goes.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help push things through faster.

AuthorI hadn't even thought of that. How do I find out who my assembly member is?

Just google 'find my california assembly member' and enter your address. They usually have a form on their website for EDD issues.

Unpopular opinion: maybe try going to the EDD office in person? I know it's a pain, but sometimes face-to-face is the only way to get things done with these bureaucrats.

Bold of you to assume they even let people in anymore ๐

I tried this last month. Waited 3 hours just to be told to go home and call the number. Total waste of time.
