Can't find EDD disability benefit statements in my account - help!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble accessing my benefit statements and checks from when I was on disability for 3 months. I can log into my EDD account, but I can't find the specific documents I need. Has anyone else had this issue? Any tips on where to look or who to contact?

Ugh, the EDD website is such a nightmare! I had the same problem last year. Have you tried looking under the 'Payment History' or 'Correspondence' sections? Sometimes they hide important stuff in weird places.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll check those sections again. It's so frustrating that they make it this complicated 😤

Seriously, why can't they just make a simple 'Documents' tab? It's like they want us to give up 🙄

I know right? It's like they designed it to be as confusing as possible. Good luck OP, hope you find what you need!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Wow, that sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? How long did you have to wait?

It does! I was skeptical at first too, but I got through in about 2 hours. Way better than spending all day trying to call myself.

Idk man, paying to get through seems kinda sketchy. Shouldn't this be a free service?

I get where you're coming from, but for me, it was worth it to save time and stress. To each their own tho 🤷‍♂️

Here's what worked for me: 1. Log into your EDD account 2. Go to 'Claim History' 3. Look for the specific weeks you were on disability 4. Click on 'Transaction Details' for each week 5. You should see links to view or download statements If that doesn't work, try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser. The EDD site can be really finicky sometimes. If you still can't find what you need, you might have to request copies of your documents. You can do this by: 1. Going to 'Contact Us' in your EDD account 2. Selecting 'Request for Information' 3. Choosing 'Benefit Payment' as the category 4. Explaining what documents you need and for what dates Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

Have you tried calling the EDD? I know its a pain, but sometimes thats the only way to get things sorted

I've tried calling but can never get through. It's so frustrating 😫

Protip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59am. It's the only way I've ever gotten through lol

OMG I'm in the same boat rn 😭 been trying to access my docs for weeks. This whole system is a joke tbh

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes EDD emails end up there. Also, make sure your contact info is up to date in your account settings.

Good idea, I'll double check my spam folder. Didn't even think of that!

Unpopular opinion: maybe we should all just show up at the EDD office enmasse until they fix their broken system 🤔

Lmao imagine the chaos. I'm down tho, this is getting ridiculous 🤣

As tempting as that sounds, I don't think it would help. The folks at the local office probably don't have much control over the website issues.

Hey OP, how long ago were you on disability? If it was more than a year ago, you might need to request archived records. There should be a form for that on the EDD website.

It was about 8 months ago, so I think they should still be accessible. But thanks for the info, that's good to know!

I had this exact same issue! What finally worked for me was going to the "History" tab and then clicking on "State Disability Insurance" instead of the regular unemployment section. The disability statements are in a completely separate area from the regular UI benefits. Also, try switching between the "Summary" and "Detailed" views - sometimes the download links only show up in one of them. It took me forever to figure this out because they don't make it obvious at all 🤦‍♀️

Oh wow, thank you so much for this tip! I never would have thought to look in the State Disability Insurance section separately. I've been searching in the regular unemployment area this whole time. Going to try this right now - fingers crossed! 🤞

This is exactly what I was missing! Just tried your suggestion and found my disability statements right away in the State Disability Insurance section. You're absolutely right - they hide it in a completely separate area. Thank you so much for sharing this, you saved me hours of frustration! 🙌

Just wanted to chime in as someone who went through this exact same headache a few months ago! The EDD system is honestly so confusing with how they organize everything. I ended up having to call multiple times before I finally got someone who could walk me through where to find my disability docs. One thing that helped me was taking screenshots of each section as I navigated through - that way when I had to start over (which happened A LOT), I could remember where I'd already looked. Also, if you do end up calling, ask them to email you direct links to your documents. Some reps can do that and it saves you from having to hunt around the website. Hope you get it sorted out soon! 🤞

This is such helpful advice! The screenshot idea is brilliant - I wish I had thought of that earlier. I've been going in circles trying to remember which sections I've already checked. And I had no idea that some reps could email direct links to documents! That would save so much time and frustration. Thanks for sharing your experience, it's really reassuring to know I'm not the only one who's struggled with this mess of a website 😅
