PFL payments delayed since December - missing documents issue?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. My paid family leave started at the end of December, and I haven't seen a dime since then. It's been months now, and I'm starting to get really worried. Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay? I think there might be some issue with missing documents or verification, but I'm not sure what to do next. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through something similar last year. Have you checked your online account to see if there are any pending tasks or missing documents? Sometimes they don't notify you properly, and you have to dig around to find out what's holding things up.

•Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely check my online account. It's so frustrating that they don't make this stuff clearer 😤

•This! 👆 The online portal can be a maze, but it's usually where all the answers are hiding. Good luck, OP!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you might be in for a long wait. The system is totally overwhelmed right now. I've been waiting for 3 months myself. It's like they're playing catch with our lives 🤡

OK, listen up because I've been through this rodeo before. Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your online account for any pending tasks or missing documents. Sometimes they need additional info but don't tell you. 2. Call the PFL office ASAP. Yes, it's a pain, but keep trying. Early mornings tend to have shorter wait times. 3. If you can't get through on the phone, send a secure message through your online account. Be specific about your situation and ask for a status update. 4. Double-check that your employer submitted all the necessary paperwork. Sometimes the holdup is on their end. 5. If you're really desperate, consider reaching out to your local state representative. They can sometimes help expedite things. 6. Document EVERYTHING. Every call, every message, every piece of mail. You might need it later. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is frustrating, but you'll get through this. Good luck!

•Great advice, but good luck actually getting someone on the phone. I've been trying for weeks! 😩

Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds like we're back in the 90s, but sometimes that works faster than online submissions. Worth a shot!

Guys, I found a method to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•20 bucks to avoid hours on hold? Sign me up! How does it work exactly?

•I was skeptical at first too, but it really did work for me. You just enter your info on their website, pay the fee, and they do all the waiting for you. When an agent picks up, they connect you. Saved me hours of frustration!

This might sound crazy, but have you tried reaching out on social media? I tweeted at the PFL account and surprisingly got a response. Worth a shot if you're desperate!

OP, make sure you're keeping track of all your expenses while you wait for this to get sorted out. You might be able to claim hardship and get some of the fees waived or expedited processing. Hang in there!
