PFL payment delayed, EDD letter confusing - need help understanding what's going on
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my PFL payment. It's been delayed and I'm not sure why. I got a letter from EDD but I'm not really sure what it means. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to figure out what's going on with my payment?

Ugh, I feel you. The EDD is such a mess rn. Have you tried calling them? That's usually the best way to get answers, even tho it's a pain in the a**.

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can get lucky and snag a spot in the queue.

•Calling is useless. I spent 3 hrs on hold last week only to get hung up on. The system is broken af 🤡

What exactly did the letter say? Sometimes they use really confusing language and it's hard to understand what they actually want from you.

•Honestly, I'm not even sure. It was a bunch of legal jargon. I'll have to dig it out and take another look.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦♂️

•I get it, but think about how much your time is worth. For me, not spending hours on hold was worth the cost.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your UI Online account for any pending tasks or messages. 2. Make sure all your documents are up to date and uploaded. 3. If you can't find any issues online, you NEED to call them. Keep trying until you get through. 4. If calling doesn't work, try contacting your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help push things through. 5. Document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every interaction. The EDD is swamped and things fall through the cracks all the time. You gotta be proactive and persistent. Don't give up!

I'm in the same boat, OP. Been waiting on my payment for 3 weeks now. This whole system is a joke. Good luck to you 😔

•Hey now, don't insult sloths like that. They're way more efficient than EDD 😂
