PFL payment issued by EDD but not received in bank account - help!

Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my PFL payment. The EDD system shows that the payment was issued a few days ago, and I've double-checked that my direct deposit details are correct. But I still haven't received the money in my account. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on what could be causing the delay?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat! My payment was supposed to hit my account last week, but still nothing. It's so frustrating when you're counting on that money to come through. Have you tried calling EDD? (Good luck getting through tho šŸ™„

I haven't been able to get through on the phone yet. Been trying for days. It's like they don't want us to talk to a real person!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold last time. Still sucks, but better than nothing.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed šŸ¤ž

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Sometimes there can be a delay between when EDD issues the payment and when it actually hits your bank account. I'd give it a couple more days before panicking. If it doesn't show up by the end of the week, definitely follow up with them.

Here's what I've learned about PFL payments after dealing with this system for months: • EDD typically issues payments within 2 weeks of approving a claim • Once issued, it can take 1-3 business days for the money to appear in your account • If you don't see the payment after 5 business days, there might be an issue • Common problems include: - Incorrect bank info - Bank rejecting the deposit - EDD system glitch If you're still not seeing the money, I'd recommend: 1. Double-check your bank info on the EDD website 2. Call your bank to see if they've received any attempted deposits 3. Contact EDD (easier said than done, I know) Hope this helps! Let us know if you get it sorted out.

Wow, thanks for the detailed info! This is super helpful. I'll give it another day or two and then start investigating further if needed.

This should be pinned at the top of the subreddit. So many people have this same question!

I swear the EDD system is held together with duct tape and prayers. How hard is it to make sure people get their money on time?

For real tho. It's 2023, why does everything with the government still feel like it's running on Windows 95?

Quick question - did you check if the payment amount matches what you were expecting? Sometimes they issue partial payments and that can cause confusion.

Good point! I just double-checked and the amount looks correct. At least that part isn't messed up šŸ˜…

Unpopular opinion: maybe we should all just go back to paper checks. At least then we'd know exactly when it was mailed out šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

I went through this exact same thing last month! Turned out my bank had flagged the EDD deposit as suspicious and put a hold on it without telling me. I only found out when I called the bank directly. Might be worth giving your bank a call to see if there's a hold or if they rejected the deposit for some reason. Also, make sure your account is still active and in good standing - sometimes banks will reject deposits if there are any issues with the account status.

Oh wow, that's really helpful to know! I never would have thought to check if my bank flagged it. That's so frustrating that they wouldn't even notify you about putting a hold on it. I'm definitely going to call my bank tomorrow morning to see if that's what happened. Thanks for sharing your experience!

This happened to me too! What finally worked was logging into my EDD account and checking the payment history section - sometimes it shows more details about the payment status that aren't obvious from the main dashboard. In my case, it showed the payment was actually still "processing" even though the initial notification made it seem like it had been fully issued. Took another 2 days after that to actually hit my account. Also, if you have a credit union, they sometimes take longer to process ACH transfers than big banks. Hope you get it sorted out soon!

This is really good advice! I just checked my payment history and you're right - there are definitely more details there than what shows on the main page. Mine still shows as "issued" but I'm going to keep monitoring it. And yes, I do bank with a smaller credit union, so that could definitely explain the delay. Thanks for the tip about checking the payment history section - I probably would have missed that!

I had this exact issue a few weeks ago! What ended up happening was that my bank routing number had changed (my credit union updated their routing numbers but didn't notify all customers), so EDD was trying to deposit to an invalid routing number. The payment showed as "issued" on their end, but my bank never received it. I had to update my direct deposit info on the EDD website and then call EDD to have them reissue the payment. It was a pain, but I eventually got my money. Might be worth double-checking that your routing number is still current, especially if you bank with a smaller institution!

Oh no, that's exactly the kind of thing I would never think to check! My bank is pretty small so it's totally possible they could have changed routing numbers without me realizing. I just logged into my online banking to double-check and compare it to what I have on file with EDD. This is such a helpful thread - between checking for bank holds, looking at the detailed payment history, and now verifying routing numbers, I feel like I have a proper action plan. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences!

I went through something similar a couple months ago! In my case, it turned out to be a combination of issues - EDD had processed the payment on a Friday afternoon, and my bank (Wells Fargo) doesn't process ACH deposits over the weekend. So even though EDD showed it as "issued" on Friday, it didn't actually hit my account until the following Tuesday. The 4-day delay had me panicking that something was wrong! One thing that helped me track it down was calling EDD's automated phone line (1-866-333-4606) and using the payment inquiry option - it gave me more specific timing info than what showed online. Also learned that if your payment gets issued close to a holiday or weekend, expect additional delays. Hope yours shows up soon!

This is so reassuring to hear! I'm banking with a smaller regional bank and I bet they have similar processing delays over weekends. I didn't even think about the timing of when EDD issued the payment affecting when it would actually show up. That automated phone line tip is gold - I'm going to try that right now to see if I can get more details about the timing. It's crazy how many little factors can cause delays that aren't obvious at first. Thanks for sharing your experience, it really helps put things in perspective!

I'm dealing with this same issue right now! My payment was issued 3 days ago according to the EDD portal, but nothing in my account yet. Reading through all these responses is super helpful - I had no idea there were so many potential causes for delays. I'm going to try calling my bank first thing tomorrow to check for holds, then verify my routing number is still current, and also try that automated EDD line someone mentioned. It's frustrating but at least it sounds like this is pretty common and usually resolves itself within a week. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - this thread is way more helpful than anything on the official EDD website!

Same here! Just went through this whole thread and I'm amazed at how many different things can cause payment delays. I'm in a similar boat - payment shows as issued 4 days ago but still nothing in my account. I never would have thought to check if my bank flagged it as suspicious or if my routing number changed. This community is honestly way more helpful than trying to navigate the EDD website or sitting on hold for hours. Going to work through this checklist tomorrow and hopefully get some answers. Really appreciate everyone taking the time to share what worked for them! šŸ™
