Got a confusing EDD letter about overdue payment - what should I do?
Hey everyone, I just got a letter from EDD and I'm not sure what it means. Can anyone help me understand what I'm supposed to do next? I'm worried it might be about an overdue payment or something. Has anyone else gotten a similar letter recently?

Without seeing the letter, it's hard to say exactly what it's about. But if you're worried about an overdue payment, you should definitely call EDD asap. Don't wait around or you might miss important deadlines.

•Agreed! I learned the hard way that ignoring EDD letters is never a good idea 😅 Better to deal with it now than have bigger problems later

•True, getting through to EDD can be a nightmare. But keep trying! It's worth the hassle to sort things out.

I actually found a way to get someone on the phone at EDD! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/0UZGuPWGErg

•Wow, that sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? How long did you have to wait?

•I get the skepticism, but it honestly worked for me. Waited about 2 hours, but didn't have to sit by my phone the whole time. Worth it to finally talk to someone!

Can you give us more details about the letter? What exactly does it say? Sometimes EDD sends out general notices that aren't as urgent as they seem.

ugh, EDD and their cryptic letters. I swear they do this on purpose to confuse us 🤡 I got one last month about an 'adjustment' to my claim and spent days trying to figure out what it meant.

•Same here! Why can't they just use plain English? It's like they're speaking another language sometimes 🤣

Here's what you need to do: 1. Don't panic! Most EDD letters have deadlines, so check for any important dates. 2. Look for any mention of 'overpayment' or 'fraud' - these are red flags you need to address ASAP. 3. If it's about certification, make sure you're up to date on your bi-weekly certs. 4. Check your EDD online account for any messages or alerts. 5. If you're still unsure, definitely try to speak with an EDD rep. Use the calling trick someone mentioned above if you're having trouble getting through. 6. Keep copies of EVERYTHING. You never know when you might need to prove you responded to their letter. Hope this helps! Let us know what you find out.

•This is great advice. Wish I had known all this when I first started dealing with EDD. It's like you need a degree just to navigate their system 🙄
