PFL claim filed 3 weeks ago, no payment or updates from EDD. What to do?

I filed for paid family leave 3 weeks ago and still haven't received any payment. I've checked my online account and there's nothing there. No letters, no notices, nothing. I've already verified my identity. It's a new claim that I filed on 8/23. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do?

Ugh, I feel ya. The EDD system is such a mess rn. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you gotta be persistent and keep trying to get through.

I've been trying to call but it's impossible to get through. Always busy or they hang up on me 😤

Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59 AM. Worked for me after days of trying!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

Totally legit. I was skeptical too but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

20 bucks to talk to EDD? That's highway robbery! 😡

I get it, but think about how much time and stress it saves. Time is money, right?

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check all your documents are submitted correctly 2. Make sure your employer has submitted their part 3. Call EDD and ask if there's any pending issues 4. If no luck, contact your local assembly member's office. They can often help push things through Stay persistent! The system is overwhelmed but you'll get your money eventually.

2 months? Amateur hour. Try 6 months for unemployment during covid. EDD is the worst 🤮

Have you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes tweeting at EDD or messaging them on Facebook can get a response.

This actually worked for me! Got a DM from them within a day after tweeting. Worth a shot!

Idk if this helps, but I had a similar issue. Turns out there was a glitch in their system and my claim wasn't properly processed. Had to file an appeal. Might wanna ask about that when u finally get thru to someone.

CONTACT YOUR STATE REPRESENTATIVE!!! They have liaisons who can escalate your case. It's literally their job to help constituents with stuff like this.

💯 this. My assemblyman's office got my issue resolved in a week after months of nothing.
