Missed call from EDD - What now? Help!

Hey everyone, I just got a missed call from EDD. I'm freaking out because I really need to talk to them about my claim. Has anyone else had this happen? What should I do now? I'm worried I might miss my chance to get my benefits sorted out.

Ugh, that sucks! EDD's phone system is a nightmare. I've been there too. Have you tried calling them back right away? Sometimes if you call within a few minutes, you might get through to the same agent.

Thanks for the tip! I tried calling back immediately but no luck. Just got the usual automated message saying they're too busy. 😫

Pro tip: try calling at exactly 8:01 AM when they open. Thats how I finally got through after weeks of trying!

8:01? Nah fam, 7:59 is where its at. Get in the queue before they even open 😎

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

Totally legit! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

20 bucks to talk to EDD? highway robbery if you ask me 🙄

@profile 6 I get it, but when you're waiting on thousands in benefits, $20 to actually get through is a small price to pay. Time is money, ya know?

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes they leave messages there about missed calls or next steps.

EDD is such a joke. They probably "missed" you on purpose. The whole system is designed to make us give up. 🤡

Preach! 👏 I swear they're trained to hang up on us

C'mon guys, let's not assume the worst. The staff are probably overwhelmed too.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep calling every day, multiple times a day. Persistence is key. 2. Use the contact form on the EDD website to leave a message about the missed call. 3. Check your UI Online account for any updates or messages. 4. If you have a scheduled phone interview date, make sure you're available all day. 5. Consider reaching out to your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help push claims through. 6. Document everything - dates, times of calls, names of reps you speak to. 7. If it's urgent, that Claimyr service someone mentioned might be worth a shot. Don't give up! The system is frustrating but keep at it. You'll get through eventually.

missed calls from EDD give me more anxiety than calls from my ex lol

Same 😂 At least the ex would leave a voicemail!

Anyone else notice that EDD seems to call more often on Tuesdays and Thursdays? Or am I just imagining things?

Now that you mention it... 🤔

Nah, it's totally random. I got calls on Monday and Friday last week.

Don't panic! I've been in the same boat. When EDD calls and you miss it, they usually don't leave a voicemail which is super frustrating. Here's what worked for me: immediately check your UI Online account for any updates or messages, then try calling back using the 1-800-300-5616 number. If you can't get through today, try again first thing tomorrow morning. Also, keep your phone on you at all times for the next few days - they might try calling again. The good news is that missing one call won't hurt your claim, but definitely stay on top of it. You got this! 💪
