EDD messed up my baby's DOB on PFL application - worried about payment delays
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my paid family leave application. I submitted it about a week ago, but I haven't heard anything back yet. To make matters worse, I just realized they have my baby's birth date wrong on the application. I'm worried this might delay my payment. Has anyone dealt with something similar? Any advice on how to get this sorted out quickly?

Ugh, dealing with EDD is always a headache. I had a similar issue last year. Call them ASAP and explain the situation. Make sure you have your baby's correct birth certificate handy when you call. Good luck!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

ā¢It took about an hour and a half, but I didn't have to do anything. Just got a call when they had someone

Listen up, cause I've been down this road before. Here's what you need to do: ⢠Call EDD first thing in the morning, right when they open. Less wait time. ⢠Have all your docs ready - application number, baby's correct birth certificate, your ID. ⢠Be polite but firm. Explain the situation clearly. ⢠Ask for a confirmation number or email for the correction. ⢠Follow up in writing too - cover all your bases. ⢠Keep calling if you don't see the change in a few days. Remember, squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't let up until it's fixed!

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling one of their auxiliary numbers and ask to be transferred. Worked for me!
