EDD Family Leave Application Keeps Giving Error Code - Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with the family leave application process. My spouse keeps getting some kind of code when trying to apply online. Has anyone else run into this issue? Any tips on how to get past it or what the code might mean? We're really confused and could use some help figuring this out.

Ugh, the EDD website is such a nightmare! I had a similar issue when I was applying for disability. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? Sometimes that helps with weird glitches on government sites.

Thanks for the suggestion! We'll give that a try. Did you end up getting through eventually?

Yeah, after like 50 attempts šŸ™„ Just keep at it and eventually it should work. The whole system is held together with duct tape and prayers I swear

What kind of code is it giving? Is it an error code or something else? Might help to know the specifics so we can better assist you.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

I was skeptical too, but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth it IMO if you're desperate to talk to someone.

How long did it take for them to actually connect you with an agent?

It took about an hour and a half, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was on the line.

Have you tried applying during off-peak hours? Like really early in the morning or late at night? Sometimes the system gets overloaded during regular business hours and throws out random errors.

That's a good idea, we'll try that tonight. Fingers crossed šŸ¤ž

The family leave application process is a total mess right now. I've been trying to help my sister with hers and it's been a nightmare. Here's what we've learned: • Make sure you're using the most up-to-date browser version • Double-check all the information before submitting - even a small typo can cause issues • If you get an error, write down the exact code and time it happened • Try using a different device if possible (switch from computer to phone or vice versa) • If all else fails, you might have to bite the bullet and try to reach them by phone Hang in there, OP. It's frustrating but you'll get through it eventually!

This is great advice. Wish I had this when I was applying last year. The struggle is real 😫

plot twist: the code is actually the cheat code to unlock infinite money in the game called life šŸ¤‘šŸŽ®

If only! šŸ˜‚ I'd settle for just getting my benefits on time tbh

I heard they're updating the system soon. Maybe wait a few days and try again? Might solve the issue without you having to do anything.

OP, are you sure youre on the right website? There are a lot of scam sites out there that look legit but are just trying to steal your info. Double check the URL and make sure its the official .gov site

Good point! We'll double-check that. Pretty sure we're on the right site, but can't hurt to verify.

man, i feel for you. been there, done that, got the t-shirt. EDD's website is like trying to navigate a maze blindfolded while riding a unicycle. just keep at it and eventually you'll stumble your way through 🤔

I went through this exact same thing a few months ago! The error codes can be super cryptic. A few things that helped me: 1. Try using incognito/private browsing mode - sometimes cached data causes issues 2. Make sure you're not copying and pasting any information (type it manually) 3. If you're getting a specific error code, try googling "EDD [error code number]" - sometimes you can find unofficial explanations 4. Don't refresh the page if it's loading, even if it seems slow Also, if you haven't already, make sure you have all your documents ready as PDFs before starting. The system times out pretty quickly and you don't want to lose progress hunting for paperwork. Hope this helps! The system is definitely frustrating but you'll get through it šŸ™
