PFL form submission error: 'system exception' message for days. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my paid family leave form. For the past couple days, I keep getting an error message when I try to finish it online. The message says 'a system exception has occurred and the transaction cannot be completed at this time.' Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on how to fix it? I'm worried about delays in my application.

I found a way to solve paid family leave form errors, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DX9JiN4QGkY

Ugh, I feel your pain! 😫 The PFL system is such a nightmare sometimes. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? That sometimes helps with weird glitches like this.

•Thanks for the suggestion! I'll give that a try and see if it helps.

•Clearing cache worked for me last time I had issues. Good luck OP!

I had the exact same problem last month! It was so frustrating. What worked for me was trying to access the site during off-peak hours, like really early in the morning or late at night. Seems like their servers get overloaded during the day.

•That's a great idea, I'll try logging in tonight and see if it works better. Thanks!

Have you tried using a different browser? Sometimes Internet Explorer (I know, I know) works better with government sites than Chrome or Firefox.

I found a way to get someone on the phone about this issue. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Wow, that sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? How long did you have to wait?

•It really does work! I was skeptical at first too, but I got through in about 45 minutes. Way better than spending hours on hold myself.

•Idk man, paying to get through to a government agency seems sketchy. Shouldn't this service be free?

•I get where you're coming from, but for me, the time saved was worth the cost. It's not ideal, but it got the job done when I was desperate.

This is why we need to overhaul the entire system! 🤬 It's ridiculous that hardworking people can't even access the benefits they're entitled to because of technical issues. We should be flooding our representatives' offices with complaints about this!

•Preach! 🙌 The whole system is broken. We need a complete redesign with modern technology.

•Calm down, Karen. These things take time to fix. At least we have benefits at all.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with PFL issues for the past 6 months: 1. Try accessing the site using different devices (computer, phone, tablet) 2. Use incognito/private browsing mode 3. If all else fails, you can request a paper form to be mailed to you 4. Keep detailed records of all your attempts to submit the form 5. If you're close to a deadline, fax the form if possible (yes, they still accept faxes) 6. Contact your local state representative's office - they often have liaisons who can help with benefit issues Hope this helps! Don't give up, OP. The system sucks, but persistence usually pays off eventually.

I'm in the same boat, OP. Been trying to submit my form for a week now. This whole situation is making me so anxious. I have bills to pay and can't afford any delays. 😰

Pro tip: Take screenshots of the error messages. If they try to penalize you for late submission, you'll have proof that you tried to submit on time but couldn't due to their system issues.

I had this exact same error last week! What finally worked for me was switching to Microsoft Edge (I know, weird right?) and also making sure I had JavaScript enabled. Also try submitting the form in sections rather than all at once - save your progress frequently. The system seems to time out if you stay on one page too long. If none of that works, definitely call the PFL customer service line first thing in the morning around 8 AM - that's when I had the best luck getting through. Hang in there, it's frustrating but you'll get through it! 💪

•Thanks for sharing your experience! The Microsoft Edge tip is really interesting - I never would have thought to try that. I've been using Chrome this whole time. Definitely going to try your suggestions about saving progress frequently and calling at 8 AM. Really appreciate the detailed advice and encouragement! 🙏

I've been dealing with PFL system issues for months and found that using Safari on Mac or Firefox on PC sometimes works better than Chrome. Also, if you're still stuck, try accessing the site through a VPN - sometimes the servers respond differently depending on your location/IP. One more thing that helped me: disable any browser extensions temporarily, especially ad blockers, as they can interfere with government sites. The whole system is definitely frustrating but don't lose hope! Keep trying the suggestions here and document everything in case you need to prove you attempted to submit on time.

•This is super helpful advice! I hadn't thought about trying different browsers or using a VPN. The tip about disabling browser extensions is really smart too - I have quite a few ad blockers running that could definitely be interfering. It's reassuring to know I'm not the only one dealing with these system issues. I'll try Safari and document everything like you suggested. Thanks for taking the time to share all these troubleshooting tips!

I just went through this exact same nightmare last month! What finally worked for me was a combination of things: First, I switched to Firefox and disabled all my browser extensions (especially ad blockers). Then I accessed the site super early in the morning around 6 AM when there's less traffic. The key was also to fill out the form in smaller chunks and save frequently - don't try to do it all at once. If you're still getting the system exception error, try using your phone's mobile browser instead of desktop. Sometimes their mobile site works better. Also, make sure you're not using any VPN or proxy. Keep screenshots of every error message with timestamps - this saved me when I had to prove I tried submitting before my deadline. The whole system is ancient and overloaded, but persistence pays off. You've got this! 🤞

•This is exactly what I needed to hear! Thank you for such detailed step-by-step advice. I'm definitely going to try the Firefox + early morning combo tomorrow. The tip about filling it out in chunks is really smart - I've been trying to do everything at once which probably isn't helping. It's so reassuring to know that others have gotten through this same issue with persistence. Really appreciate you sharing what worked for you! 🙏

I've been struggling with the same system exception error for about a week now! After reading through all these suggestions, I'm going to try the Firefox + early morning approach that several people mentioned. It's so frustrating that we have to jump through all these hoops just to access benefits we're entitled to. Has anyone had success with the mobile site approach? I'm wondering if that might be worth trying as a backup option. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences - it really helps to know we're not alone in dealing with this broken system!

•I actually had success with the mobile site approach when I was dealing with this same issue a couple months ago! After trying everything else, I used my iPhone's Safari browser and it worked on the third try. The mobile version seems to have fewer features that can break, if that makes sense. Definitely worth trying as your backup plan. Also, I noticed you mentioned trying for a week - that's exactly how long it took me too before I found the right combination. Don't give up! The early morning + Firefox combo that others mentioned really does seem to work for a lot of people.

I've been dealing with this exact same error for the past 3 days! So frustrating. Reading through all these suggestions, I'm going to try the Firefox browser with all extensions disabled first thing tomorrow morning around 6 AM. It sounds like the combination of off-peak hours + different browser + no ad blockers has worked for several people here. I've been using Chrome this whole time, so maybe that's part of the problem. Also going to make sure to save my progress frequently instead of trying to complete everything at once. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - it really helps to know there are actual solutions that have worked for others! Will report back if I have success. 🤞
