SDI Callback Wait Time: 24+ Hours and Counting - Anyone Else Frustrated?

Has anyone else been waiting forever for their SDI call? I've been trying to get through since yesterday morning and still haven't received a single call. It's been over 24 hours now. This automated system is seriously frustrating me. I feel like I'm just wasting my time at this point. Anyone else dealing with this or have any advice?

I found a way to solve SDI callback delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zs6xO2YVSz4

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

$20 just to talk to someone? That seems kinda sketchy...

0 coins

How does it work exactly? Is it legit?

0 coins

I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. It basically just does the waiting for you. And tbh, $20 was worth it to finally get my issue resolved.

0 coins

Wow, that's actually pretty clever. Might have to try it if I don't hear back soon.

I actually tried Claimyr, and it worked for me too. Just remember it's an additional cost and doesn't guarantee a resolution if there are deeper issues with your account.

Welcome to the club, buddy. I've been trying to get through for THREE DAYS now. It's like they're purposely ignoring us or something. 🤔

plot twist: there is no SDI office. its just a bunch of hamsters running on wheels powering an answering machine 🐹🐹🐹

0 coins

LMAO 🤣 That would explain a lot actually

0 coins

Nah, hamsters would be more efficient

I needed that laugh, thanks 😂

am i the only 1 who thinks its crazy that we have to jump through all these hoops just to get what we're entitled to? like, we paid into this system ffs

0 coins

Louder for the people in the back! 👏👏👏

For real. It's OUR money, but they treat us like we're begging for handouts. smh

0 coins

Have you tried calling them directly instead of waiting for a callback? Sometimes that works better.

0 coins

I've tried that too, but I just end up on hold forever. It's so frustrating!

0 coins

Calling directly is a joke. I was on hold for 3 hours yesterday before I gave up. 😡

0 coins

Ugh, I feel your pain. The SDI system is a total mess rn. I had to wait almost a week before I got my call. Hang in there!

0 coins

A week?! That's insane. How are we supposed to survive without our benefits for that long?

0 coins

ikr? It's ridiculous. I had to borrow money from family just to make ends meet. The system is broken af

0 coins

Anyone else notice that their website is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🙄

0 coins

Every. Single. Time. It's like they know when I'm about to log in

0 coins

I swear they do that on purpose to reduce the number of claims they have to process

Here's what I've learned from dealing with SDI for the past few months: 1. Persistence is key. Keep trying every day. 2. Try calling at different times. Early morning (right when they open) or late afternoon sometimes works better. 3. Have all your info ready when you do get through. Claim number, SSN, dates of employment, etc. 4. Be polite to the rep when you finally talk to someone. They're overwhelmed too. 5. If you're really desperate, consider contacting your local state representative. Sometimes they can help push things through. 6. Document everything. Keep a log of when you call, who you talk to, what they say. 7. Check your online account regularly for updates. Hope this helps someone! We're all in the same boat here.

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try calling early tomorrow morning.

This is gold 💯 Saving this for future reference!

Great tips! I'd add: use the online portal to upload any documents they request. It's faster than mailing.

Guys, I hate to be that person, but have you checked your spam folder? My callback notification ended up there somehow.

0 coins

Just checked - nothing there. But thanks for the suggestion!

0 coins

OMG YOU'RE A LIFESAVER! It was in my spam! I can't believe I missed it 😭

This is why we need to overhaul the entire unemployment system. It's not equipped to handle high volume situations like this pandemic. We need to pressure our representatives to make changes!

0 coins

Preach! 🙌 The system has been broken for years, but now it's just impossible to ignore.

0 coins

Yeah, good luck with that. Politicians don't care about us regular folks. 🙄

Maybe if enough people raise their voices, something could change. It’s a matter of persistence and unity.

I feel like I'm stuck in an endless loop of "we'll call you back" and then... nothing. It's like groundhog day, but make it unemployment 😫

0 coins

Mood. I'm starting to think "we'll call you back" is just their polite way of saying "go away

Maybe we should start a support group for people waiting for SDI callbacks 😅

Pro tip: if u get through to someone but they cant help, ask to be transfered to a tier 2 specialist. they have more authority to actually fix stuff

0 coins

Ooh, good to know. Thanks for the tip!

0 coins

This! A tier 2 rep was able to fix an issue I'd been dealing with for weeks in like 10 minutes

If you're dealing with delays and frustrations in reaching the SDI office, you might want to consider using a service like Claimyr. It's a tool designed to help cut through long wait times by dialing the phone menu for you and then notifying you once an agent is on the line. While it's not a free service ($20 per call), many users have found it helpful in bypassing the constant on-hold nightmare. However, it's important to weigh the cost against your current financial situation since results can vary based on individual cases and the nature of the problem you're experiencing with SDI. Also, consider combining this tool with persistence and using other tips mentioned here, like contacting your state representative for persistent issues, checking your online accounts, and documenting every interaction. Ultimately, while tools like Claimyr can be effective, it's essential to explore all available avenues to get your issue resolved efficiently.

Has anyone tried reaching out to them on social media? Sometimes companies respond faster when you call them out publicly.

0 coins

I tweeted at them last week. Radio silence. 🦗

I've seen some people get responses on Facebook, might be worth a shot

I'm in the exact same boat - been waiting since Tuesday for my callback and nothing! It's beyond frustrating when you're dealing with a disability and need these benefits to survive. I've tried calling directly multiple times but just get stuck in an endless hold loop. Reading through all these comments, it sounds like this is a widespread issue and not just us being unlucky. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences and tips here - at least we know we're not alone in this mess. Going to try some of the suggestions like calling early morning and checking my spam folder. Fingers crossed something works soon! 🤞
