Need to reach SDI ASAP - Tips for getting through to a real person?

Hey everyone, I need to call SDI asap. Anyone have any tips on how to get through to a real person? I've been trying for days and keep getting stuck in the automated system. It's driving me crazy!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to reach them for weeks. It's like they don't want us to actually talk to anyone. 🤬

Same here! I swear they must have like 2 people working the phones for the entire state. 🙄

Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

Yeah, I've tried that. No luck. It's like playing the lottery at this point.

I found a method that actually works! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to your phone. It does cost $20, but it totally works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20? That's kinda steep just to make a phone call...

I know it sounds crazy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I finally got through in like an hour. Worth every penny imo.

Just used it yesterday. Can confirm it works! 👍

Pro tip: try calling their out-of-state number. Sometimes it's easier to get through that way. Good luck!

I've had some success with using the online portal instead of calling. Have you tried submitting your question there?

Yeah, I tried that first. But my issue is kinda complicated and I really need to talk to someone directly. Thanks for the suggestion tho!

This whole system is so broken. We pay into it, but when we need help, it's impossible to get. Someone needs to fix this mess!

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're purposely making it difficult so people just give up.

Maybe we should all flood our representatives' offices with complaints. Might get some attention that way.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with SDI for months: 1. Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it feels hopeless. 2. Use the online portal for simple issues, but insist on talking to someone for complex problems. 3. Document EVERYTHING. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and interactions. 4. If you're really stuck, reach out to your local state representative. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. 5. Consider using a service like Claimyr if you're desperate and can afford it. 6. Join Facebook groups or forums dedicated to SDI issues. Sometimes you can find insider tips there. 7. If all else fails, show up in person at an SDI office. It's a hassle, but sometimes it's the only way to get results. Hope this helps someone out there. We're all in this frustrating boat together!

Great advice! I'd add: be super nice to the rep when you finally get through. They deal with angry people all day and being kind can go a long way.

Have you tried tweeting at them? Sometimes public shaming works wonders lol

I heard they just hired a bunch of new people. Maybe it'll get better soon? 🤞

LOL yeah right. I'll believe it when I see it. 🙄

I've had luck calling exactly at 8:00 AM when they open - literally have your finger ready to hit redial at 7:59:59. Also try calling on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, seems like Mondays and Fridays are swamped. If you get the automated system, don't hang up right away - sometimes if you stay on the line for a few minutes it'll transfer you to hold for a real person. The wait can be brutal (I've waited 3+ hours before) but at least you're in the queue. Good luck, @Amelia Martinez - I know how stressful this can be when you need help ASAP! 🤞

This is such helpful advice! I never thought about the timing aspect - definitely going to try the Tuesday/Wednesday strategy. The 8 AM sharp tip makes total sense too. Thanks for sharing what actually worked for you @Harold Oh! It's so frustrating when you're dealing with something urgent and can't get through to anyone.
