SDI Payment Delayed for Weeks - How to Actually Get Help?
Has anyone else not received their SDI payment yet? I'm so frustrated with the whole process. It's been weeks and still nothing. I've tried calling but can never get through to a real person. This is ridiculous. How are we supposed to survive when the system is so broken? Any advice on how to actually get my payment or talk to someone who can help?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been waiting for my SDI payment for over a month now. It's like they don't even care that people are struggling to pay bills and put food on the table. The whole system is a joke.

•A month?! That's insane. Have you tried contacting your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things through.

•No, I haven't thought of that. Good idea! I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the tip!

•Local reps are useless imho. They just give you the same runaround as everyone else. 🙄

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken we have to pay just to get help? 😡

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Was worth every penny to finally get my issue resolved.

•Can you give more details about how it works? Is it legit?

•Yeah, so basically you choose the department you need to call, pay the fee, and then they start calling for you. When they get a real person, your phone rings and you're connected. Saved me hours of frustration.

Have you checked your claim status online? Sometimes there's info there about why payments are delayed. Could be missing docs or something.

This happened to me last year. Turns out they had my old address on file and were sending physical checks instead of direct deposit. Might be worth double-checking all your info is up to date.

•Thanks for the suggestion. I'll definitely check that. It's crazy how one small thing can hold up the whole process.

The SDI system is completely overwhelmed right now. I heard they're still dealing with a backlog from the pandemic. It sucks, but sometimes you just have to wait it out. 😔

•That's no excuse! People need this money to survive. The government needs to get its act together.

•Agreed. We pay into this system, we should be able to count on it when we need it. 💯

Here's what worked for me after weeks of no payment: 1. Double-check all your info online is correct 2. Submit any missing documents ASAP 3. Call right when they open (I mean literally the second they open) 4. If you can't get through, try that claimyr service someone mentioned 5. As a last resort, contact your local rep or state senator It's a pain, but persistence is key. Don't give up!

Has anyone tried going to their local SDI office in person? Sometimes face-to-face interactions can get things moving.

•I tried that last week. Waited in line for 3 hours only to be told they couldn't help me and I needed to call the main number. Total waste of time. 🤦♂️

Pro tip: if you do manage to get someone on the phone, ask for a direct callback number or extension. Makes future calls way easier.

This might sound weird, but have you tried reaching out on Twitter? Sometimes public callouts get faster responses. Worth a shot if you're desperate.
