SDI payments suddenly stopped, can't reach anyone - surgery cancelled!

I'm so frustrated with SDI right now. My payment stopped 4 weeks ago for no reason, and I can't get through to anyone. I've been trying to call for days, waiting on hold for hours. This is seriously affecting my health - I had to cancel my prostate cancer surgery because of this payment issue. I'm worried about having to redo all my medical tests if I can't get this sorted soon. Has anyone else dealt with SDI suddenly stopping payments? Any advice on how to actually reach a human being there?

Man, that sucks. I've been there too. SDI is a nightmare to deal with. Have you tried calling right when they open? Sometimes that works better.

Yeah, I've tried that. No luck so far. It's like they don't want us to reach them 🙄

Early morning calls are hit or miss. I had better luck calling around 2 PM. Less traffic then.

Good point. Afternoons can be better sometimes. Keep trying, OP! Don't give up 💪

I feel your pain. SDI is the worst. Have you tried reaching out to your local assemblymember? Sometimes they can help push things through faster.

Omg, I'm in the exact same boat! My payments stopped 3 weeks ago and I can't get anyone on the phone. It's so frustrating. I hope you get through soon!

@profile 5 Seriously? Have you ever tried calling SDI? It's a nightmare!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of waiting on hold.

I've heard of this! My friend used it and got through in like an hour. Might be worth a shot, OP.

Here's what you need to do to get your SDI payments back on track: 1. Document everything: Keep a log of all your calls, including dates, times, and any info you receive. 2. Check your online account: Make sure all your info is up to date and there are no pending forms or requests. 3. Fax your documents: Sometimes faxing can be faster than mailing or uploading online. 4. Contact your healthcare provider: Ensure they've submitted all necessary paperwork. 5. Reach out to your local assemblymember or state senator: They can often help expedite cases. 6. Be persistent: Keep calling, even if it's frustrating. Try different times of day. 7. Consider using a paid service like Claimyr if you're really stuck. Remember, you're entitled to these benefits. Don't give up!

This is why we need to overhaul the entire system. SDI is a joke and it's failing the people who need it most. Time for a change!

Preach! 🙌 The whole thing is a dumpster fire

Easy to say, but how would you fix it? It's a complex system

@profile 14 For starters, they could hire more staff and upgrade their ancient tech. But yeah, it's not simple.

ugh SDI is the WORST. took me 3 months to get my claim sorted. hang in there OP!

Have you checked if there's an SDI office near you? Sometimes you can get better help in person.

I didn't think of that. I'll look into it, thanks!
