EDD payment issued but nothing on BofA card after 24 hours - when will it actually post?
Super frustrated right now! My EDD SDI payment status changed to 'issued' yesterday (Jan 16, 2025) on my disability account online, but there's zero money showing up on my Bank of America EDD debit card today. I've been checking the card balance hourly and nothing has changed.\n\nI've tried calling the EDD disability phone line THREE times today but got disconnected twice and the third time I was on hold for 45 minutes before giving up. The automated system just says my payment was issued - not helpful!\n\nIs there a normal delay between when EDD 'issues' the payment and when it actually posts to the card? Does it take a full business day? This is my first disability payment so I don't know what to expect, and I have bills due Monday that I was counting on paying with this money.\n\nHas anyone else experienced this delay? Should I keep waiting or is something wrong with my claim?

Thank you so much! That's a relief to hear. I wish they'd make this clearer on the website or something. So stressful watching that account and seeing nothing happen! I'll try to be patient until Monday then. Really appreciate the direct deposit tip too!

If you're really worried and need to talk to someone at EDD, I had the same issue last month and spent DAYS trying to get through on the phone. I finally used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me connected to an EDD agent in about 25 minutes instead of calling for days. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ?si=1hcSq3KFtCr4oAmd \n\nThe agent told me exactly when my payment would post to my card and explained that the \

Did you actually get useful information when you called? I've tried calling 3 times and even when I do get through, they just tell me what I can already see online. Is it worth the effort to keep trying?

Yeah, the agent I spoke with actually explained their payment processing schedule and confirmed my payment was in the system. She could see more details than what shows on the website. She also noted that first payments sometimes have additional verification steps that can add a day. Having someone confirm everything was fine gave me peace of mind.

This is a very common issue with EDD SDI payments. Here's what's happening behind the scenes:\n\n1. When status changes to \

This is SO helpful - thank you for explaining the entire process! I had no idea about the different stages. My payment actually just posted to my card about an hour ago (Saturday morning), so it took about 36 hours from when it said \

I bet ur payment is still pending because of the Martin Luther King Jr holiday on Monday! EDD always has delays around holidays even if they already marked it issued. At least thats what happned to me during Christmas. The website said issued but then took 4 days to actually show up because of the holiday.

That's a good point about the holiday potentially affecting processing times. However, the payment was issued on Thursday, January 16th, so even with the MLK holiday on Monday, it should still appear by Tuesday at the latest. But you're absolutely right that holidays can add extra delays to EDD payment processing.

The whole EDD disability system is BROKEN!!! I had the EXACT same issue and when I finally got through to someone (after calling literally 28 times), they had the nerve to tell me it was \

Ugh, I feel your frustration! It's crazy that they can't give us a simple estimated arrival date. I'm lucky my landlord is understanding about the delay but not everyone has that flexibility. The whole system needs an upgrade!
