EDD eligibility confirmed by phone - What's next? Need guidance on next steps
Hola a todos! I just checked my account status by phone and with EDD. They told me I'm eligible for benefits and mentioned the payment amount. But I'm a bit confused about the next steps. Anyone else been through this recently? What should I expect now?

Congrats on being eligible! 🎉 Next steps usually involve waiting for an official notice in the mail. It'll have all the details about your benefit amount and when to expect payments. Have you set up your online account yet?

•Gracias! No, I haven't set up an online account yet. Is that something I should do right away?

•Definitely! Setting up your online account ASAP is crucial. You can check your claim status, certify for benefits, and get important updates there. Don't wait on this one, amigo!

•100% agree. The online portal is a lifesaver. Just make sure you have a strong password and don't share your login info with anyone!

•Have you tried calling? I know it's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

•Calling is impossible! I've tried like 50 times and always get the busy signal. This system is broken af 😤

Hey guys, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

•I was skeptical too, but I can confirm it's legit. Used it twice now and got through both times. Saved me hours of frustration!

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken we have to pay extra just to get basic service 🤦♂️

•I get it, but for me, it was worth every penny. Time is money, and this saved me days of stress.

Pro tip: Keep a detailed log of all your interactions with EDD. Note down dates, times, and names of ppl you talk to. It'll save you headaches later if there are any discrepancies.

Does anyone know if the benefit amount they tell you over the phone is the same as what you'll actually get? I'm worried they might have calculated mine wrong 😕

•In my experience, it was pretty accurate. But def double-check when you get the official notice. Mistakes can happen!

•Mine was off by like $50. Not a huge difference, but still annoying. Definitely review everything carefully.

Friendly reminder to everyone: make sure you're certifying for benefits every two weeks! Set a reminder on your phone or calendar. Missing a certification can mess up your payments big time.

•This! 👆 I learned this the hard way and had to wait an extra month for my payments to restart. Don't be like me, folks!

Has anyone had luck with the EDD chatbot on their website? I've been trying to use it but it seems pretty useless tbh

•Lol that chatbot is about as helpful as a chocolate teapot 🍫☕️ Stick to calling or using the online portal for real help.

•I actually got some decent info from it once! But yeah, for anything complex, you're better off talking to a human.
