EDD and ID.me Account Issue: Can't Finish Online Process Due to Email Link Error
So I'm having this weird issue with my EDD account and ID.me. I made both accounts after seeing my doctor, but now I can't finish the online process. It keeps saying my account is linked to another email, but when I check my account, I only see one email - the right one. I'm stuck on this page and can't move forward. Anyone else run into this? It's driving me crazy!

EDD and ID.me are like oil and water, I swear 🙄 The whole system needs an overhaul. I've been dealing with issues for MONTHS. Solidarity, OP.

•It's frustrating when systems that should work together end up causing more problems. A system overhaul could really streamline the process for everyone.

Plot twist: what if the "other email" is actually from a parallel universe where you made different life choices? 🤯👽

I had a similar problem last year. Turns out, I had an old account I'd forgotten about. Try checking if you might have created an account in the past with a different email.

•It's always a good idea to check old emails or usernames. Sometimes the past comes back to haunt us!

I understand that dealing with EDD and ID.me issues can be very frustrating. As an authoritative recommendation, you should consider verifying your ID.me account details and ensure that no discrepancies exist. If you've tried all the usual troubleshooting steps and are still facing issues, turning to Claimyr can be a useful approach as they offer a service to minimize wait time on support calls. However, it's important to weigh the cost of such services against the potential frustration and time saved. Additionally, contacting EDD directly through different channels, such as online portals, email, or even social media, could yield results. Persistence is crucial as system errors are unfortunately common in large bureaucracies. Finally, double-check any documents or information provided by your doctor to ensure there are no inconsistencies there.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Wait, what? You're telling me there's a way to skip the hold time? How does that even work?

•Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure this isn't a scam?

•I get the skepticism, but I swear it's legit. They basically have a system that calls and waits on hold for you. When a real person picks up, it forwards the call to you. Saved me hours of frustration.

•While Claimyr can be a lifesaver in situations like these, it's worth considering whether you're comfortable with the cost and sharing your information with a third-party service.

I work in IT (not for EDD tho) and this sounds like a database sync issue. Unfortunately, only their tech team can fix it. Keep calling and don't give up! The squeaky wheel gets the grease 💪

•Persistence can indeed be key in situations like this. Sometimes continuously following up is the best way to get issues resolved.

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD system is a total nightmare. Have you tried contacting ID.me support directly? Sometimes they can sort out these weird email issues.

•I'd recommend reaching out to both EDD and ID.me through their online support channels. Maybe email support would be more effective?

Have you checked if this has anything to do with what your doctor filled out? Sometimes medical info can mess with the system.

•Huh, I hadn't thought of that. I'll def ask about it when I finally get through to someone. Thanks for the tip!

•Omg yes! This happened to me too. My doc's office used an old email and it caused so much confusion. Definitely worth checking!

Hey OP, have you considered that this might be identity theft? I'd check your credit report just to be safe. Better safe than sorry!

•Identity theft can have far-reaching impacts, so checking your credit report regularly is a good practice.

Have you tried reaching out on Twitter? Sometimes their social media team is more responsive than the actual support line. Worth a shot! 🤷♀️

•Social media teams can sometimes bypass traditional support channels, so this might be a good alternative if you're having trouble getting through.

This sounds like a classic case of EDD's system being out of sync with ID.me. Here's what you can try: 1. Clear your browser cache and cookies 2. Try logging in from a different device 3. Double-check that you're using the correct URL for both EDD and ID.me 4. If all else fails, you might need to call EDD directly (I know, it sucks) Good luck, OP! Let us know if any of these work.

•Keep in mind that hacks like these don't always work with all phone systems. It's good to have a backup plan!

I had this exact same issue a few months ago! The "account linked to another email" error is super common with the EDD/ID.me integration. What worked for me was actually creating a completely new ID.me account with a slightly different email (like adding a period or number) and then linking that fresh account to EDD. I know it sounds backwards, but their system sometimes gets confused with existing accounts. Also, make sure you're not logged into any other government sites when you try - that can mess with the verification process. Hope this helps!

•This is really helpful advice! I never would have thought about creating a new ID.me account with a slightly different email. The system integration issues between EDD and ID.me seem so common - it's frustrating that we have to find these workarounds just to access basic services. Thanks for sharing what worked for you!
