SDI account registration blocked by duplicate ID.me accounts - EDD shows unmatched records

Hey everyone, I'm having a frustrating issue with registering my SDI account. Apparently, there are unmatched records due to duplicate ID.me accounts. I've already tried closing one of the accounts, but my EDD profile still shows unmatched records. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get this sorted out?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I had the same issue a few months ago. It's such a headache dealing with these bureaucratic nightmares. Have you tried calling EDD directly? They might be able to manually link the correct ID.me account to your profile.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've been trying to call them, but it's impossible to get through. The lines are always busy 😫

Pro tip: call right when they open. I mean like, set an alarm and be ready to dial the second they open. It's ridiculous, but it worked for me!

Thanks for the tip! I'll give it a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I'm skeptical. Why should we have to pay to talk to a government agency? 🤔

I get the skepticism, but it honestly saved me so much time and frustration. Worth every penny for me. But yeah, it sucks we have to resort to this.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Log out of both ID.me accounts 2. Clear your browser cache and cookies 3. Log back into the ID.me account you want to keep 4. Go to the EDD website and try to link your account again 5. If it still doesn't work, contact ID.me support directly Hope this helps! Let me know if you need any more details.

Thank you so much for the detailed steps! I'll give this a try right away and report back. 🙏

This is solid advice. I'd add that using incognito mode can also help avoid any cookie-related issues.

lol welcome to the wonderful world of EDD 🤡 where nothing works and we're all just clowns trying to get our benefits

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help expedite these issues with EDD. Worth a shot!

I hadn't even thought of that! Do you know how I would go about contacting them?

Just google your address + 'assembly member'. Their office should have a contact form or phone number. They're usually pretty responsive!

Ive been dealing with this exact issue for WEEKS now. its driving me insane. EDD needs to get there act together smh

Weeks? Try months 😭 The system is so broken

Quick question - when you try to log in, does it give you a specific error message? Might help narrow down the problem.

It just says 'Records unmatched due to Duplicate I.D.me accounts'. Not very helpful, right? 🙄

Hey OP, hang in there! I know it feels hopeless, but keep pushing. Document everything, take screenshots, and don't give up. You've got this! 💪

I went through this nightmare last year! What finally worked for me was contacting ID.me support first to get them to completely delete the duplicate account (not just deactivate it), then waiting 48-72 hours before trying to register with EDD again. The key is making sure ID.me purges all traces of the duplicate from their system. Also, make sure you're using the exact same name format across all your documents - even small differences like "Michael" vs "Mike" can cause matching issues. It took about a week total, but it eventually went through!
