EDD website can't verify my identity - no changes or errors, what gives?

Hey everyone, I'm having a frustrating issue with the EDD website. It keeps saying it can't verify my identity. I've tried everything I can think of - my documents are up to date, I haven't moved or changed my name, and I'm not getting any specific error messages. Has anyone else run into this problem? Any ideas on what could be causing it or how to fix it? I'm at my wits' end here.

I found a way to solve EDD identity verification issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXIDBCAGlBI

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD system is such a mess. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? Sometimes that can help with weird website issues.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give that a try and see if it helps. Fingers crossed! 🤞

Good idea! Also, try using a different browser altogether. I had issues with Chrome but Firefox worked fine for me.

I had a similar problem last month. Turns out there was a glitch in their system affecting a bunch of people. It eventually resolved itself after about a week. Maybe try calling them directly?

A week? Ugh, I can't wait that long. I guess I'll have to try calling. Thanks for the info!

Good luck calling EDD 🤣 You'll be on hold for hours if you even get through

Seriously, calling EDD is like trying to win the lottery. I spent 3 days trying to get through last time I had an issue.

Hey, I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda sketchy...

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Can you explain more about how it works? Do they just keep redialing until they get through?

0 coins

Yeah, basically it uses an automated system to navigate the phone tree and stay on hold. When a real person picks up, it calls your phone. Super simple but effective.

Have you checked if there's any maintenance scheduled for the EDD website? Sometimes they do updates that can cause temporary issues with verification.

This might sound weird, but are you using any VPN or proxy? I had issues verifying my identity when I was using a VPN. Turned it off and it worked fine after that.

Oh wow, I didn't even think of that. I do use a VPN sometimes. I'll try disabling it and see if that helps. Thanks for the tip!

Alright, let me break this down for you. I've been dealing with EDD for years and here's what I've learned about identity verification issues: 1. Double-check all your info: Make sure every single piece of information matches exactly what's on your official documents. Even a slight discrepancy can cause problems. 2. Browser issues: As others have mentioned, try different browsers or clear your cache/cookies. 3. Timing matters: Sometimes the system gets overloaded. Try early morning or late night when fewer people are likely to be using the site. 4. Document upload: If you're uploading documents, make sure they're clear, not too large, and in the right format (usually PDF or JPEG). 5. Wait it out: Sometimes it's just a temporary glitch that resolves itself in a few days. 6. Contact EDD: If all else fails, you'll need to contact them directly. Use the contact form on their website or try calling (be prepared for long wait times). 7. Last resort: If nothing works, consider reaching out to your local state representative. They often have liaisons who can help with EDD issues. Hope this helps! Let us know if you make any progress.

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed response! This is incredibly helpful. I'll work through these steps and update everyone on what works.

This should be pinned or something. So much useful info here!

lol welcome to the wonderful world of EDD 🤡 where nothing works and we're all just clowns trying to get our benefits

Ain't that the truth 😂 EDD should change their name to EDDiot

Have you tried sacrificing a goat to the EDD gods? Might be more effective than actually using their website 🐐🔪

LOL, at this point I'm willing to try anything 😂

I went through this exact same issue a few months ago! What finally worked for me was using a completely different device - I was trying on my laptop and it kept failing, but when I switched to my phone it went through immediately. Also make sure you're not using any browser extensions that might interfere with the verification process (ad blockers, privacy extensions, etc.). The EDD system is super finicky about this stuff. If that doesn't work, try accessing the site through an incognito/private browsing window. Good luck! 🤞

This is really good advice! I never would have thought that switching devices could make such a difference. I've been trying on my desktop this whole time - definitely going to try my phone next. Thanks for mentioning the browser extensions too, I have quite a few running that could be causing issues.

I had this exact same problem a few weeks ago and it was driving me crazy! What ended up working for me was logging out completely, clearing all my browser data (not just cache and cookies but everything), then waiting about 30 minutes before trying again. I think their system sometimes gets "stuck" on your session or something. Also, double-check that your address on file with EDD matches exactly what's on your ID - even small differences like "St" vs "Street" or missing apartment numbers can cause verification failures. The whole system is super picky about exact matches. Hope this helps and you get it sorted out soon!

This is really helpful advice! The waiting 30 minutes part is interesting - I wonder if there's some kind of cooldown period in their system. I'm definitely going to try the complete browser data wipe approach. And you're absolutely right about the address matching - I had a similar issue with a different government site where "Apt 2B" vs "Apartment 2B" caused problems. Thanks for sharing what worked for you!

I had a similar identity verification nightmare with EDD last year! After weeks of frustration, I discovered the issue was that my middle initial was missing from one of my uploaded documents compared to what was in their system. Even though it seemed like a tiny detail, their automated verification system flagged it as a mismatch. I had to re-upload a corrected document and wait 3-5 business days for it to process. Also, make sure you're uploading documents during business hours - I noticed better success rates when I submitted stuff between 9 AM - 3 PM on weekdays. Their system seems to process things more reliably during those times. Hang in there, it's incredibly frustrating but you'll get through it! 💪
