EDD Unemployment Website Crashing: Can't Log In or File Weekly Claim - Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having some serious issues with the unemployment website. It keeps crashing or giving me error messages when I try to log in or file my weekly claim. Is anyone else experiencing this? It's so frustrating because I really need to get my claim filed on time. Any advice on how to get through or what to do if the site isn't working?

Hot take: maybe if we all showed up at the unemployment office with our laptops and tried to file our claims there, they'd finally realize how broken the system is. Who's with me? π€β

β’I'm down! Let's make it a weekly "file-in" until they fix this mess.

β’Lol imagine the look on their faces when 100 people show up with laptops and start chanting "FIX THE SITE! FIX THE SITE!

β’Peaceful protests have historically been a great way to draw attention to an issue. Might be worth considering.

Update: I finally got through! For anyone else struggling, here's what worked for me: 1. Cleared my browser cache and cookies (thanks for that tip!) 2. Tried logging in at 5 AM (yeah, I set an alarm. Desperate times...) 3. Used a different browser (switched from Firefox to Chrome) It took about 30 minutes of refreshing and trying again, but I finally got in and filed my claim. Hope this helps someone else!

Has anyone else noticed that the website seems to crash more often right before the filing deadline? It's like clockwork. Every. Single. Time. π€

β’Omg yes! I thought I was the only one who noticed this. It's so sus.

β’Conspiracy theory: they do it on purpose to reduce the number of claims. π

β’Guys, cmon. It's probably just more people trying to file at the same time. Occam's razor and all that.

β’Such bottlenecks happen when too many people access the system simultaneously. Maybe they need better servers?

I swear, dealing with this unemployment system is harder than the job I lost. Maybe I should put "Expert in Navigating Bureaucratic Nightmares" on my resume. π€

Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? Sometimes that helps with website issues. Also, try using a different browser or device if possible. I had better luck using Chrome on my laptop than Safari on my phone.

β’Thanks for the suggestion! I'll give that a shot. Fingers crossed it works π€

β’I second this advice. Clearing cache worked for me last week when I was having similar issues.

Guys, I'm seriously at my wits end with this. I've been trying to file for 3 weeks now and keep getting error messages. My rent is due and I'm freaking out. Any advice on what to do when you can't get through at all?

β’Hang in there, buddy. Have you tried reaching out to local charities or your county's social services? They might have emergency assistance programs.

β’Call your landlord and explain the situation. Some are willing to work with you if you show you're making an effort. Also, check if there are any rent relief programs in your area.

β’Document EVERYTHING. Every attempt to log in, every error message. If they try to deny your claim later because it was "late," you'll have proof that you tried.

Hey guys, I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the URL: https://claimyr.com

β’Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

β’Yep, 100% legit. I was skeptical too, but I was desperate after trying for weeks to get through. It saved me so much time and stress.

β’$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken.

β’I get it, $20 isn't nothing. But for me, it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. Time is money, you know?

β’While Claimyr seems to work for some, it's important to consider if the cost is worth it for you personally. There might be free alternatives, albeit less convenient.

I feel your pain, OP. I've been in the same boat. Here's what I've learned after months of dealing with this mess: 1. Try accessing the site during off-peak hours. I've had the best luck very early in the morning or late at night. 2. If you keep getting error messages, take screenshots. You might need them if you have to prove you tried to file on time. 3. Keep calling their helpline. Yes, it's a pain, but sometimes you can get through and they can file your claim over the phone. 4. Check their social media accounts. Sometimes they post updates about website issues or maintenance. 5. If all else fails, consider reaching out to your local representative. They sometimes have contacts who can help push things through. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! We're all in this together. πͺ

Anyone else feel like they need a computer science degree just to navigate this website? I swear, every time I log in, it's like I'm trying to hack into the Pentagon or something. π€£

PSA: If you're having issues with the website, make sure you're not using any ad blockers or VPNs. I found out the hard way that these can sometimes interfere with the site functionality.

Pro tip: if you're having trouble with the website, try calling your local unemployment office directly instead of the main number. Sometimes they can help you file over the phone or give you a workaround for the website issues.

Ugh, same here! π€ The website has been a total nightmare lately. I've been trying to log in for the past 3 days with no luck. It's like they don't want us to get our benefits or something.

The unemployment website is a joke. It's like they built it in 1995 and never bothered to update it. π€‘ I swear, sometimes I think they make it difficult on purpose to discourage people from claiming benefits.

To anyone struggling with the unemployment website, consider trying Claimyr's service if you are consistently unable to get through. While it does cost $20, many find it to be a valuable investment for the time and stress it saves. However, keep in mind that this might not be a feasible solution for everyone. Some may prefer traditional methods or have budget constraints, so weigh the pros and cons for your situation. Always keep screenshots and documentation of attempts to file, as these can be crucial if issues escalate. Continue trying different devices or times, as many others have found success that way.

Does anyone know if there's a mobile app for filing claims? The website is so not mobile-friendly, it's ridiculous.

β’An app? In this economy? π We'll probably get one sometime around 2050.

β’Sadly, no app. But I've had decent luck using the Chrome browser on my phone and requesting the desktop site. It's not perfect, but it works in a pinch.

β’The lack of a mobile app is a glaring oversight. Hopefully, it gets addressed sooner rather than later.
