EDD website won't let me file for unemployment online - any workarounds?

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble filing for unemployment online. The system keeps giving me errors and won't let me complete the application. Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips on how to get it done? I really need to file ASAP and I'm getting frustrated with the website.

I found a way to solve unemployment website filing errors, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6CaHDuvI8k

Ugh, I feel your pain! The unemployment website is a total nightmare. I had the same issue last month. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? Sometimes that helps with weird glitches.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll give that a try. Did it end up working for you?

It actually did work for me! But I've heard others say it didn't help them. The whole system is so hit or miss 🙄

I second this advice! Clearing cache worked for me too. Also, try using a different browser if you can.

The online system is trash. I ended up having to call them directly. It took forever to get through, but at least I got my claim filed. Keep trying the website, but don't be afraid to pick up the phone if you have to.

How long did you have to wait on hold? I've heard horror stories about being on hold for hours 😱

Not gonna lie, it was brutal. I was on hold for about 3 hours. But hey, desperate times call for desperate measures, right? 🤷‍♂️

Hey, I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

I was skeptical at first too, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Here's what worked for me after struggling with the online system for days: 1. Try filing very early in the morning (like 5 AM) or late at night. The website seems to work better when there's less traffic. 2. Double-check all your info before submitting. Even small errors can cause the system to reject your application. 3. If you're using autofill, turn it off. Sometimes it can mess with the form fields. 4. Make sure you're using a supported browser. I had issues with Firefox but Chrome worked fine. 5. If all else fails, call the unemployment office directly. Yes, it's a pain, but sometimes it's the only way. Hope this helps! Don't give up, you'll get through eventually. 💪

Preach! 🙌 It's like they make it difficult on purpose to discourage people from filing.

For real. We pay into this system with our taxes, it should work when we need it. SMH

Have you tried contacting your local state representative? Sometimes they can help push things through or at least give you more info on whats going on with the system.

idk if this helps but I had issues filing online too. Turns out my claim was flagged for identity verification. Had to upload extra docs. Might be worth checking if thats whats holding up your application.

Oh interesting, I didn't even know that was a thing. How did you find out your claim was flagged?

I got an email about it, but it went to my spam folder at first. Might be worth checking there too!
