EDD Login Issues: Can't Access Account to Change Phone Number
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble logging into my account because I need to change my phone number. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any tips on how to update my contact info?

Ugh, I had the same issue last month. It's such a pain! Have you tried going through the online portal? That's how I eventually got it sorted.

•Thanks for the suggestion! I tried the online portal but it keeps giving me an error. Any other ideas?

•Classic EDD... their systems are always glitching 🙄 Maybe try calling them directly?

•Calling them is a nightmare tho. I was on hold for like 3 hours last time 😫

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure its legit?

•Yep, 100% legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

•How long did it take for them to call you back?

•It took about 45 minutes for me, but I've heard it can vary depending on how busy they are. Still way better than waiting on hold yourself!

Have you tried updating your info through the mail? I know it's old school, but sometimes the analog way works when the digital way fails 🤷♂️

This is why I always tell people to keep their contact info up to date. Prevention is better than cure, folks! 💯

•Ok boomer 🙄 Sometimes life happens and you gotta change your number. Not everyone can predict the future

•Fair point. I didn't mean to sound preachy. Just trying to help for future reference!

Here's what worked for me: 1. Clear your browser cache and cookies 2. Try logging in using a different browser 3. If that doesn't work, use a different device (like your phone instead of computer) 4. As a last resort, create a new account and link it to your existing claim Hope this helps! Let me know if you need more details on any of these steps.

•Wow, thanks for the detailed response! I'll give these a try and report back.

•Creating a new account sounds risky... won't that mess up your existing claim?

•It's actually a feature EDD provides for situations like this. But yeah, definitely try the other steps first!

I went through this exact same thing a few months ago! The trick that finally worked for me was going to a local EDD office in person with two forms of ID. I know it's a hassle, but they were able to update my phone number on the spot and I could log in again that same day. Might be worth checking if there's an office near you that's doing walk-ins. Good luck! 🤞
