EDD ID verification showing disqualification - What to expect on Monday's call?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my identification documents for unemployment. I submitted them but it's showing disqualification. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm supposed to get a call on Monday about it, but I'm worried. Any advice on what to expect or how to handle this?

Ugh, been there done that. The whole ID verification process is a nightmare. Make sure you have ALL your docs ready when they call. They might ask for additional stuff, so have your SSN card, birth certificate, and a recent utility bill handy just in case.

ā¢@profile 3 Phone bill should work, but if you can get a gas/electric bill that's even better. They want something with your name and address on it.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. Used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

ā¢Nah, it's legit. I was skeptical too but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo

ā¢How long did it take for them to get someone on the line?

ā¢@profile 6 Took about 2 hours for me, but I didn't have to sit there listening to that awful hold music lol

Pro tip: If you're having trouble with the online ID verification, try using a different browser or clearing your cache. Sometimes it's just a tech glitch.

I swear the EDD is run by clowns 𤔠How hard is it to verify someone's ID? We're living in 2023 for crying out loud!

Here's what you need to know about the ID verification process: ⢠Make sure all your documents are clear and legible ⢠Double-check that the name on all documents matches EXACTLY ⢠If you've changed your name recently, you might need to provide additional proof ⢠Sometimes they ask for a selfie holding your ID - make sure it's well-lit ⢠If you're using [ID.me](http://ID.me), try to do a video call if possible - it's faster ⢠Keep an eye on your email and spam folder for any communications ⢠If you get disqualified, appeal immediately! You usually have 30 days ⢠During the call, ask for a direct number or extension for follow-ups Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

ā¢Wow, thank you so much for this detailed info! I'll definitely make sure I have everything ready. Do you know if they usually call exactly at the scheduled time?

ā¢In my experience, they're usually on time, but it can vary. I'd say be ready 15 minutes before and be prepared to wait up to an hour after the scheduled time, just in case.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assemblyperson? They can sometimes cut through the red tape and get things moving.

OP, whatever you do, DON'T GIVE UP! I was in the same boat last year. Took me 3 months to get it sorted, but I finally did. Stay persistent!

ā¢Thanks for the encouragement! It's good to know there's light at the end of the tunnel. How many times did you have to call before it got resolved?

ā¢Oof, I lost count tbh. Probably called like 20+ times? But each time I learned something new about the process. You got this! šŖ
