CalWORKs midnight deposit not showing up - anyone else's Cash Aid missing?
Is anyone else not seeing their CalWORKs payment hit their account yet? It's already 1 a.m. and nothing's showing on my EBT card. Usually my Cash Aid is available right at midnight on my payment date (the 1st). I checked BenefitsCal and it shows 'issued' but nothing's in my account. I have rent due tomorrow and I'm starting to panic because I literally have $7 left until this deposit hits. My case was fine last month - submitted my SAR7 on time and everything. No notices about discontinuance. Has anyone experienced delayed deposits before? How long did it take to show up? I'm worried something's wrong with my case but the county office won't be open for hours.

mines not there either! dont worry yet, sometimes the system is slow. last month mine didnt show up til like 6am

This happens occasionally when there's a processing delay with the state's payment system. Your benefits should appear by morning in most cases. If they don't show up by noon tomorrow, then you should contact your county office. The fact that BenefitsCal shows 'issued' is a good sign - it means the payment was processed on their end and is just taking time to reach your EBT account. Don't panic yet!

•Thank you for the reassurance. I've never had a delay before so I was immediately assuming the worst. My landlord isn't very understanding about late payments so I'm just extra anxious.

The CalWORKs system is ALWAYS having issues at the beginning of the month when most payments go out!! I've had my benefits delayed THREE TIMES this year alone! And of course you can't ever get through to anyone to check on it. The whole system is designed to stress us out i swear. They'll probably show up eventually but good luck trying to get any answers from a real person at the county office!!! 😡

•While I understand your frustration, I've found most payment delays are usually resolved by mid-morning. Since BenefitsCal shows it as 'issued,' there's likely just a delay in the transfer to the EBT system. If you do need to reach someone tomorrow though, I've had good luck using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to a real caseworker instead of waiting on hold forever. There's been problems with the EBT system today. I'm in a CalWORKs Facebook group and lots of people are posting about delays tonight. One person said they called the EBT customer service line (not the county) and they confirmed there's a system delay affecting multiple counties.

this happened to me 2 months ago & i was freaking out too!! turns out I had hit my Income Reporting Threshold without realizing it (got some overtime at work) and they were recalculating my benefits. But since you submitted your SAR7 on time that probably isn't your issue. Did you add any new household members or have any changes to your family situation? Sometimes even small changes can cause a temporary hold while they process things.

•No changes to my household - just me and my two kids, same as always. And I definitely didn't hit the IRT since I've been at the same part-time job making the same amount. I'm hopeful it's just the system delay others are mentioning.

Just checking back - did your benefits show up this morning? If not, I'd recommend calling the EBT customer service line first (1-877-328-9677) to confirm if it's a system issue. If they say the payment hasn't been sent to your card, then you'll need to contact your county office. Since it's the 1st of the month, their phone lines will be extremely busy, so prepare for a long wait.
