CalWORKs deposit missing today - anyone else not get their Cash Aid?
Is anyone else waiting on their CalWORKs payment? My cash aid is supposed to deposit today (the 1st) like always but there's nothing in my account yet. Usually hits around midnight but it's already afternoon. Called the EBT customer service line and they said the deposit was processed on their end. My rent is due tomorrow and my landlord doesn't care about excuses. Anyone else having this issue with the February payment? Or know if there's a delay this month? 😫

same here!! mines not showing up either and ive been getting calworks for 3 yrs now. never been this late before

mine jsut showed up like 20 mins ago. sometimes the bank takes longer to process. check again

This happens sometimes when the 1st falls on a Friday. The system processes payments in batches, and some batches get delayed by a few hours. I'd recommend checking again this evening - it should be there by 5pm at the latest. If not, then you should contact your county office first thing Monday morning. Don't panic yet!

•Thats not true, they are REQUIRED BY LAW to have our money available on the 1st!!! I'm so tired of them playing with peoples lives like this! Some of us have CHILDREN TO FEED and RENT TO PAY!!! This kind of stuff is exactly why the whole system needs to be fixed!!!

I had this happen last month and it took me two days of calling to finally reach someone at my county office. They said there was a system issue affecting some recipients but not others. If you're struggling to get through on the phone, I'd recommend using Claimyr (claimyr.com). It basically calls the office for you and then calls you back when a real person answers. This happens everytime there's a holiday the week before payment date. Something to do with the processing schedule getting thrown off. I always keep a tiny bit of emergency money just for this reason because CalWORKs is so unreliable with timing.

For anyone struggling with this, you can also call the county office and request an immediate needs payment if your Cash Aid is significantly delayed and you have urgent expenses like rent. They can sometimes issue emergency funds while they resolve whatever is causing the delay.

Does anyone know if this affects the increase we're supposed to get this month? I heard CalWORKs payments are going up by like $25 for a family of three starting in February.

•Yes, the CalWORKs grant amounts increased slightly this month. For a family of three in Region 1, the maximum went from $1,037 to $1,062. The increase should be reflected in this month's payment once it posts. If you don't see the increase, that would be a separate issue to address with your county worker.

This is exactly why I always check my account multiple times on payment day! Mine was delayed by about 4 hours last month too. For anyone still waiting, I've noticed that different banks process the deposits at different times even when CalWORKs releases them. Chase usually gets mine by 2am, but my friend with Bank of America sometimes doesn't see hers until late afternoon. The system definitely needs to be more consistent, but at least most delays seem to resolve within the same day. Hang in there everyone! 💪
