When will CalFresh post the extra payment scheduled for 21st? Not showing on EBT account
Anyone know exactly when CalFresh posts that supplemental payment that's supposed to hit on the 21st? I keep checking my EBT balance through the Providers portal but there's nothing showing up about upcoming deposits. My regular benefits already posted earlier this month, but I'm counting on this extra payment for my kids' groceries next week. Is there a specific time they usually load these supplemental benefits? The county worker mentioned it when I called about my recertification last month, but didn't give details on timing. Starting to worry it won't come through...

•The county worker specifically told me there would be a supplemental payment this month because of some adjustment to my household size calculation. She mentioned the 21st specifically. Now I'm worried she gave me wrong info.

Supplemental payments don't show up in the Provider portal until they're actually issued. If your caseworker told you to expect a supplement on the 21st, it's probably due to one of three things: 1) a benefit adjustment after recalculation, 2) a restoration of benefits if you had a previous underpayment, or 3) a special issuance approved by your county. These won't show as "pending" anywhere - they just appear in your account on the day they're issued. If the 21st is the date your worker promised, you should see it that day, typically by noon.

•Thank you so much for explaining! That makes sense why I can't see it yet. Do you know if there's any way to confirm the amount before it posts? The worker mentioned a number but I was distracted by my kids and didn't catch it.

•Unfortunately there's no way to see the pending amount before it posts. If you need to confirm the amount, you'll need to contact your county office directly. You could try calling your assigned worker if you have their direct line, or the main CalFresh customer service number for your county.

There are a few different types of supplemental payments that can happen with CalFresh. Based on what you mentioned about a household size calculation, it sounds like they did a recalculation after your household composition changed. These supplements typically post on a specific day the county worker sets - in your case the 21st. They don't show as pending in the system because they're processed differently than regular monthly benefits. As long as the worker put it in the system correctly, it should appear in your EBT account on the 21st without any further action from you. If it doesn't show up by the end of day on the 21st, call your county office first thing the next morning.

•This is exactly my situation! I added my nephew to my case last month after my sister got placed in rehab. The worker said they'd need to recalculate my benefit amount and there would be an adjustment. I just wish there was some way to confirm it's actually in the system before the 21st.

Your GETTIN a supplemental payment?!? I never got one!!1! They keep telling me my household of 5 only qualifies for $457/month which is NOTHING with food prices now. How did u qualify for extra??

•It's not a regular extra payment. I added a family member to my case (my nephew) and they're adjusting my benefits to account for him joining the household mid-month. So it's basically catching up what I should have received.

Have you tried calling the EBT customer service line? Sometimes they can see pending deposits that don't show up on the Provider portal yet. I've had luck with them in the past when I was waiting for a replacement card benefit transfer. Just call the number on the back of your EBT card and follow the prompts to speak with a representative.

•I tried calling but got stuck in that automated system hell. Was on hold for 45 minutes before I had to hang up to pick up my kids. I'll try again tomorrow morning when hopefully the wait isn't as bad.

If you're having trouble reaching someone at the EBT customer service or your county office, I'd recommend trying Claimyr. It helped me get through to an actual CalFresh worker after weeks of trying on my own. Their service calls and waits on hold for you, then calls you when they have a real person on the line. I used it last month to confirm my SAR7 was processed correctly. Saved me hours of frustration. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a demo video at https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8 that explains how it works.

•Yes, it actually worked for me! I was skeptical too but I was desperate after trying for days to get through. They called, waited on hold (it was over an hour!), and then connected me directly to a worker who could help with my case.

My caseworker did something similar for me in January. The extra payment posted around 11am on the day she said it would. Don't stress if it's not there first thing in the morning - sometimes it takes until afternoon to show up in your balance.

•That's good to know! I'll try not to panic if it's not there right at midnight or something. I'll check throughout the day on the 21st.

UPDATE: The supplement posted this morning! It was actually more than I expected - $387 for adding my nephew to the household mid-month. So relieved. Thanks everyone for your help!

•Thats great! Make sure u submit the SAR7 on time when it comes or they'll cut benefits with no warning. Happened to me and was a NIGHTMARE to fix

For anyone finding this thread later: Supplemental payments for household adjustments typically post on whatever date the eligibility worker enters into the system. They don't show as pending in advance, and won't follow your regular issuance date. If you're expecting a supplement and it doesn't arrive when promised, contact your county office immediately as there may have been an entry error or processing delay.

•This is really helpful info. I've been on CalFresh for 3 years and never knew supplements worked differently from regular benefits. Good to know if I ever need to add someone to my case in the future.
