When are the extra CalFresh benefits being loaded in April 2025?

Anyone got their extra CalFresh deposit this month? I usually get my regular benefits on the 11th (based on my case #), but I thought the supplemental amount was supposed to come earlier in the month. It's already April 7th and nothing yet. Last month it came on the 3rd. Did they change the schedule or is it delayed? Really counting on this for my kids spring break groceries!!

The quarterly adjustment they started doing this year? My worker told me everyone was getting an extra amount each quarter to account for inflation. Got it in January and again in March. Maybe not everyone qualifies??

There aren't any "extra" CalFresh benefits scheduled for April 2025. You might be confused about a few things: 1. Regular CalFresh benefits are issued on a schedule based on the last digit of your case number (1st through 10th of each month) 2. The quarterly inflation adjustment you mentioned is applied to your regular benefits - it's not a separate deposit 3. Some counties occasionally do retroactive adjustments if there was an error or policy change, but these aren't scheduled "extras" What you received in January and March might have been: - Retroactive benefits from a case correction - A benefit adjustment from reported income changes - A one-time supplement from your county (rare but happens) I'd suggest calling your county worker to clarify what those payments were so you can understand if/when to expect them again.

Omg I feel so dumb now. Just checked my EBT transaction history and you're right - what I got in January and March were back payments from when they adjusted my benefit amount after I reported my rent increase. I thought that was going to be a regular thing!! Thank you for explaining!

The CalFresh issuance schedule hasn't changed for April 2025. Benefits are still distributed from the 1st to the 10th based on the last digit of your case number. What you might have received as "extra" could have been: 1. An adjustment after your Semi-Annual Report (SAR7) was processed 2. A correction if your benefits were calculated incorrectly before 3. A supplement if you qualified for more benefits retroactively These aren't regular extra payments. The emergency allotments that gave everyone maximum benefits ended years ago after the pandemic emergency declaration ended. You should check your BenefitsCal account or your last Notice of Action to understand exactly what your benefit amount should be each month.

I was in the same boat last year thinking I was supposed to get something extra every few months! Turned out it was just them fixing an error on my case. The letter they sent was so confusing! Have you tried calling your county office to find out exactly what those payments were? Good luck getting through though - I spent 3 days trying to reach someone last time I had a question.

If you're having trouble getting through to your county CalFresh office, you might want to try Claimyr. I used it last month when I couldn't get anyone to pick up and it worked great. It basically calls for you and then connects you when a real person answers. Saved me hours of waiting. Their video shows how it works: https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8 and their website is claimyr.com. Worth checking out if you're desperate to talk to someone about your benefits.

I think you might be getting confused with the Child Tax Credit deposits that are going out mid-April? Those are completely different from CalFresh and go through the IRS, not through your EBT card. If you have kids and filed taxes, you might be getting that soon, but it has nothing to do with food stamps.

No, definitely wasn't tax related. After reading everyone's comments, I think I just misunderstood what my worker told me. The "extra" payments I got were just one-time adjustments. Wish they'd explain things more clearly when they talk to us!

To clarify for everyone in this thread: The CalFresh program in California for 2025 includes: 1. Regular monthly benefits (issued 1st-10th based on case number) 2. Semi-Annual Reporting (SAR7 every 6 months) 3. Annual Recertification (complete SAWS2 form) There are NO scheduled supplemental or extra payments in April 2025. Any additional amounts received are typically case-specific adjustments. If you believe you should be receiving different benefit amounts, you should: - Check your most recent Notice of Action letter - Review your account on BenefitsCal.com - Contact your county worker with specific questions Misunderstandings about "extra" payments are common, especially since the pandemic emergency allotments ended years ago.

CalFresh benefit amounts are adjusted for inflation every October 1st based on the USDA's Thrifty Food Plan calculations. This happens automatically - you don't need to do anything. The last adjustment was October 1, 2024, so the next one will be October 1, 2025.
