Can't see future EBT deposits on CalFresh app - missing July benefits?
Does anyone know how to check when your next CalFresh deposit will hit your EBT card? I just checked my BenefitsCal account and can see my case is active, but I can't figure out how to see WHEN my next deposit will be. My benefits usually come on the 7th, but I want to double check since I had to submit some extra income verification last month after getting a small raise (about $315/month extra). Just want to make sure I'm not going to have a gap in food money for my kids. Is there something in the app that shows pending deposits? Or do I have to call the county?

thers no way to see future deposits on the benefitscal app...its stupid. u can only see past deposits after they happen. the deposit date depends on the last digit of ur case # and stays the same every month unless theres a holiday

•Thanks! That's so frustrating. Do you know if there's any way to check if my benefits were approved after I sent in the income verification? I'm just worried they'll be delayed.

CalFresh benefits are distributed on a schedule based on the last digit of your case number, and unfortunately there's no way to see future deposits through the app. The BenefitsCal portal only shows past transaction history. If your case shows as active, that's a good sign, but there's no "pending deposits" feature. If you submitted income verification, your benefits might be adjusted based on the new income amount, but shouldn't be interrupted if your income still falls within eligibility limits. For a small raise of $315/month, you might see a small reduction in benefit amount but likely won't lose eligibility completely. If you're concerned, the safest option is to contact your county worker directly to confirm your next issuance date and amount.

•Thank you so much for the detailed explanation! That's really helpful. Do you know what the income limits are for 2025? We're a family of 4 with two kids under 10, and my new monthly income is about $2,950.

I had this EXACT same problem last month!!! The system is SO BROKEN. I called and waited for 3 HOURS only to be told my benefits were fine but then they STILL didn't show up on time. Had to borrow money from my sister to feed my kids. THE WORST.

•I'm sorry you had that experience. For future reference, if you're having trouble getting through on the CalFresh phone lines, I've been using Claimyr to get through more quickly. It's a service that waits on hold for you and calls you back when a real person is on the line. Saved me hours of frustration last time I needed to check on a verification issue. You can watch how it works at https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8 or just go to claimyr.com. Not affiliated with them, just a grateful user!

For a family of 4 in 2025, the gross monthly income limit for CalFresh is $3,925, so with your income at $2,950, you should definitely still qualify. Your benefit amount might be reduced slightly with the increased income, but you shouldn't lose eligibility. The verification you submitted likely needs to be processed before your next issuance. If your case shows as active in BenefitsCal, that's a positive sign, but it doesn't guarantee the verification was fully processed in time for the next deposit.

•That's such a relief about the income limits! I was really worried we might lose benefits completely. I'll try calling tomorrow to check if my verification was processed.

Wait I'm confused? You said your active on BenefitsCal but worried about a deposit? If your active that means your approved. They don't update the system until they process everything. If your still active that means they already processed your income verification, so your benefits will come on the 7th like normal. I just had this situation in April when I sent in my SAR7 with new income from my second job.

•Thanks for clearing that up! I was confused because I got a letter saying they needed additional verification, sent it in, but never got confirmation they received it. So even though my case shows active, I was worried the verification might not have been processed. Sounds like I should be good though!

I had this same worry last month! I called the EBT customer service line (not the county number). They can't tell you future deposits, but they confirmed my case was active and when my regular issuance date was. The number should be on the back of your EBT card. That line has much shorter wait times than the county office. Hope this helps!

•The EBT line is USELESS!!! They told me everything was fine and then my benefits were STILL late and I had NO FOOD for my kids!!

The BenefitsCal system definitely has limitations. Unfortunately, there's no way to see pending deposits - only past transactions. Since your case shows as active, that's generally a good sign. For future reference, here's what different status messages mean: - Active: Your case is currently eligible and should receive benefits - Pending: Your application or recertification is being processed - Discontinued: Your benefits have been stopped If you submitted income verification and your case still shows as active, it likely means they processed your verification and you're still eligible. Your benefits should be deposited on your regular issuance date (the 7th in your case). If you want to confirm, calling your county office is the only sure way, though wait times can be frustrating.

•Thank you for the detailed explanation of the status messages! That's really helpful to know. Mine definitely says "Active" so I'm feeling much better now. I'll just check on the 7th and hope everything goes through normally.

i had a baby last year and had to report the change and my benefits were late that month. ended up being deposited on the 15th instead of my usual 11th. just be prepared in case theres a delay

•Congrats on your baby! Just FYI adding a household member usually increases your benefit amount. Did you get more after they processed the change?

My sister had to report a raise and they REDUCED her benefits by like $50!!! For just a tiny raise!!! The system is SO UNFAIR!!!

•This is actually how CalFresh is designed to work. Benefits decrease as income increases, typically by about 30 cents for every additional dollar earned. So a $315 raise might reduce benefits by around $95. It's not meant to be unfair, just that the program provides more assistance to households with greater financial need.

I'm in a similar situation - just started a new job and had to report the income change. From what I've learned reading through these comments, it sounds like if your case shows "Active" in BenefitsCal, that's a good sign that they've processed your verification. The app really is limited though - I wish they'd add a feature to show pending deposits or at least confirmation when verifications are processed. For now, I'm just going to check my EBT card on my usual deposit date and call if nothing shows up. Hope your benefits come through on the 7th as expected!

•Thanks for sharing your experience! It's reassuring to hear from someone in a similar situation. I agree the app could really use better features - even just a simple "verification received" notification would help so much with the anxiety of not knowing if your paperwork went through. Good luck with your new job! Hopefully we both get our benefits on time without any issues.

I've been through this exact situation before! The frustrating thing about the BenefitsCal system is that "Active" status doesn't necessarily mean your recent verification was processed - it just means your case hasn't been closed yet. However, since you submitted income verification for a relatively small raise ($315/month), you should still be well within the eligibility limits for a family of 4. The good news is that even if there's a slight delay, it usually gets resolved within a few days of your normal deposit date. I'd recommend checking your EBT card first thing on the 7th, and if nothing's there by noon, definitely call your county office. In my experience, most income verification delays get sorted out pretty quickly once you get through to someone. Keep that verification paperwork handy just in case they need you to resend anything!
