When do unemployment benefits get deposited Washington ESD weekly claims
Filed my weekly claim on Sunday like I always do but haven't seen my Washington ESD payment hit my account yet. Usually it shows up by Tuesday but it's Wednesday now and nothing. Is there a standard schedule for when unemployment benefits get deposited? I'm using direct deposit and it's been working fine for the past 6 weeks. Starting to worry something went wrong with this week's claim.

Washington ESD typically processes payments 1-2 business days after you file your weekly claim. If you filed Sunday, you should see it by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. Check your claim status online to make sure there weren't any issues with your weekly filing.

•Just checked and my claim shows as processed with no issues. Maybe my bank is just slow today?

•Sometimes banks hold ACH transfers longer than usual, especially if there are holidays coming up.

I've been getting mine every Tuesday like clockwork for 8 weeks now. Filed Sunday night around 11pm and it's always there by Tuesday morning. Might want to double check your banking info in your Washington ESD account.

•Banking info looks correct, same account I've been using. This is weird.

Good luck trying to call Washington ESD directly - I spent 3 hours on hold yesterday just to get disconnected. If you really need to reach them about your payment timing, I recently found this service called Claimyr at claimyr.com that actually gets you through to a real agent. They have a demo video at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ showing how it works. Saved me so much frustration.

•Never heard of that before, does it actually work? I've been trying to reach Washington ESD for weeks about an adjudication issue.

•Yeah it worked for me last week. Way better than sitting on hold forever or getting the busy signal.

•Sounds too good to be true tbh. Washington ESD phone system is deliberately broken I think.

For what it's worth, Washington ESD payment timing can vary slightly based on your bank's processing schedule. Most people see deposits on Tuesday, but some banks don't post ACH transfers until Wednesday. If it's not there by Thursday, then I'd be concerned.

•That makes sense. I'll wait until tomorrow before panicking.

•My credit union always posts mine on Tuesday mornings around 6am. Very consistent.

THIS SYSTEM IS SO MESSED UP! Why can't they just have a consistent schedule?? I've been getting mine on different days each week and it's making it impossible to budget. Some weeks Tuesday, some weeks Wednesday, once it didn't come until Thursday!

•The processing time is actually pretty consistent from Washington ESD's end. The variation is usually on the banking side.

•I feel you on the budgeting thing though. It's stressful not knowing exactly when it will hit.

I work in banking and can explain this a bit. Washington ESD sends out the ACH files on Monday nights typically. Most banks process ACH deposits overnight Monday/Tuesday, but some banks have different posting schedules. Credit unions tend to post earlier, big banks sometimes hold until Wednesday.

•That's really helpful, thank you! I'm with a smaller regional bank so maybe that's why mine varies.

•Interesting, didn't know that about the ACH timing. Makes sense why everyone gets theirs on different days.

•No holidays this week though, so that's not it.

•Sometimes banks have internal processing delays too, not just holidays.

I had this exact same problem last month! Turned out Washington ESD had flagged my account for some random verification thing and I had no idea. Didn't get my payment for 2 weeks until I finally got through to someone. That Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier might be worth trying if you can't get through normally.

•Oh no, how do I check if my account is flagged? My online account doesn't show any alerts.

•That's the problem - mine didn't show anything either. Had to call to find out there was an issue.

Just wanted to chime in that my payments have been super consistent - every Tuesday at 3am according to my bank app. Been claiming for 12 weeks now. If yours has been regular and suddenly stopped, there might be an issue with this specific week's claim.

•That's what I'm worried about. Everything was so regular before this week.

UPDATE: My payment just hit my account! Came in about 4 hours later than usual but it's there. Must have just been a processing delay on someone's end.

For future reference, Washington ESD usually processes weekly claims in batches throughout Monday night and Tuesday morning. Most payments hit accounts Tuesday, but some can be delayed until Wednesday depending on when your claim gets processed and your bank's schedule. If it's not there by Thursday, definitely call.

Mine was late this week too! Usually Tuesday morning but didn't get it until Wednesday evening. Maybe there was some kind of system delay on Washington ESD's end this week.

•Yeah, seems like several people had delays this week specifically.

I've noticed that if Washington ESD is doing system maintenance or updates, it can delay payment processing by a day or two. They don't always announce it publicly but it happens occasionally.

•Is there a way to check if they're doing maintenance?

•Not really, they should post notices on their website but they don't always do it consistently.

FINAL UPDATE: My payment just came through! Showed up Thursday morning, so about 2 days later than usual. Must have been some kind of processing delay like others mentioned. Thanks everyone for the help and reassurance!
