The Washington ESD website has good information about what constitutes misconduct vs. other reasons for termination. I'd recommend reading through that section so you understand how they evaluate these cases.
Bottom line: file your claim as soon as you're terminated, be completely honest about the circumstances, document everything, and don't get discouraged if it takes time. Most legitimate claims get approved eventually.
For what it's worth, I used that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier when I had questions about my benefit calculation being wrong. Got through to ESD in like 15 minutes instead of spending hours redialing. They fixed my weekly amount from $445 to $623 once I could actually talk to someone.
Final advice: once you know your benefit amount, set up a simple budget. 26 weeks goes by faster than you think, especially if you're used to a full-time salary. Start job searching immediately even if you think you have plenty of time.
Good luck with your claim! The process can be frustrating but the benefits really help while you're looking for new work. Just stay on top of your weekly claims and job search requirements.
One last tip - if you do end up needing to call Washington ESD for any reason, I had success with that Claimyr service too. Really cuts down on the hold time and actually gets you to a real person who can help.

Good luck with everything! The first week is always the hardest but once you get into the routine of filing weekly claims, it becomes pretty straightforward.

One more tip - if you do need to call Washington ESD and Claimyr isn't an option, try calling right when they open at 8 AM or during lunch hour. Those seem to be the best times to get through.

•Though honestly, Claimyr is so much easier than trying to time your calls perfectly. Just saying!
