What day does Washington ESD unemployment pay - still waiting for deposit
I filed my weekly claim on Sunday like always but it's Thursday and I still haven't gotten my unemployment payment. Usually it hits my account by Tuesday or Wednesday. Does anyone know what day Washington ESD actually sends out payments? I'm starting to worry something went wrong with my claim.

Washington ESD typically processes payments on Tuesdays and deposits usually show up Tuesday night or Wednesday morning depending on your bank. If you filed Sunday and it's Thursday with no payment, something might be holding up your claim.

•That's what I thought too. My claim status just says 'paid' but no money in my account yet.

•check if there's any issues on your account that need attention, sometimes they hold payments for random verification stuff

I've been dealing with this exact issue for weeks. Washington ESD payment schedule is Tuesday processing but lately there have been delays. You might need to call them to see what's going on with your specific claim.

•I've been trying to call but can never get through. The phone system is impossible.

•I know exactly what you mean about the phone situation. I was spending hours trying to reach someone at Washington ESD until I found Claimyr. It's a service that calls for you and gets you connected to an actual agent. Check out claimyr.com - they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works.

•Never heard of that before. Does it actually work?

Payment timing depends on when you file your weekly claim too. If you file Sunday night, processing happens Tuesday, bank deposit Wednesday. If you file later in the week it can push everything back.

•I always file mine on Sunday morning right when I wake up. Still get paid Wednesday usually.

•Same here, Sunday filing gets me Wednesday deposits like clockwork

Washington ESD payment schedule has been all over the place lately!! Sometimes Tuesday, sometimes Wednesday, I even got one on Thursday last month. The system is a mess.

•There can be delays due to federal holidays or system maintenance but the standard schedule is still Tuesday processing.

•Tell that to my empty bank account lol

have you checked your payment history on the washington esd website? sometimes it shows as paid but there's actually an issue preventing the deposit

•Yeah it shows paid for the right amount. This is so frustrating.

•If it shows paid but you don't have the money, that's definitely a bank routing issue or account problem. You need to call Washington ESD immediately.

I had this happen when my bank account got closed without me knowing. Washington ESD was sending payments to a closed account so they kept bouncing back. Took forever to sort out.

•My account is definitely open, I use it all the time for other stuff.

•Then it's probably on Washington ESD's end. You really need to get through to someone there.

•This is exactly why I recommend Claimyr to everyone. Instead of wasting hours trying to get through yourself, they handle the calling and get you connected when an agent is available.

Standard Washington ESD payment timeline: File weekly claim by Sunday night → Processing Monday-Tuesday → Payment issued Tuesday → Bank deposit Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. If you're not seeing deposits by Thursday something is definitely wrong.

•This is really helpful, thank you. So I should definitely be worried at this point.

•Yeah Thursday with no payment when it shows paid is not normal at all

Could be a routing number issue if you recently changed banks or they updated their system. Washington ESD doesn't always notify you when payments fail.

•I haven't changed anything with my banking info. Same account I've been using for months.

•Then something is definitely up. Don't wait longer to contact them.

The payment day can vary if there are holidays too. Memorial Day, Labor Day, stuff like that pushes everything back a day or two.

•Good point but there haven't been any holidays recently

•True, just throwing it out there as something to consider for future reference

I work at a bank and see this sometimes. If Washington ESD shows the payment as issued but it's not in your account after 3 business days, there's either a routing problem or the payment got returned for some reason.

Ezra Beard
•That's really concerning. How would I even find out what happened?

•You'd need to contact Washington ESD directly to trace the payment. They can tell you if it was returned or if there's an issue with your account information.

•I feel your pain. The hold times are ridiculous and half the time you get disconnected anyway.

•Have you tried that Claimyr thing someone mentioned earlier? I'm getting desperate enough to try anything at this point.

For what it's worth, I've had good luck calling Washington ESD right at 8am when they open. Still takes forever but better chance of getting through than calling later in the day.

•I'll try that tomorrow morning. Thanks for the tip.

•8am calling works sometimes but even then you might wait 2+ hours on hold

•Yeah I tried the 8am thing and still couldn't get through. That's when I decided to try Claimyr and it was honestly worth it just to avoid the stress of calling myself.

Double check that your direct deposit info is correct in your Washington ESD account. Sometimes the system glitches and changes your banking information.

•I checked and it all looks right. Same routing and account numbers I've been using.

•Then it's definitely something on their end that needs to be resolved with a phone call.

This happened to my cousin last year. Turned out Washington ESD flagged her account for some random review and froze payments without telling her. She only found out when she finally got through to someone on the phone.

•Oh great, that's exactly what I'm worried about. How long did it take to resolve?

•Once she got through to someone it was fixed within a few days. The hard part was actually reaching a person.

Payment timing is usually consistent but when there are issues you really need to talk to someone at Washington ESD to get answers. The online system doesn't always show what's really going on.

•Yeah I'm realizing I probably should have called sooner instead of just waiting and hoping.

•Don't beat yourself up about it. The calling system is so bad that most people avoid it until they absolutely have to.
