What time does unemployment get deposited Washington ESD direct deposit timing
Does anyone know what time Washington ESD deposits unemployment payments? I filed my weekly claim Sunday night and it says paid but I still don't see the money in my account. My bank usually processes deposits early in the morning but it's already 10am Tuesday and nothing yet. Is there a specific time when Washington ESD releases the funds or does it depend on your bank? I'm getting worried something went wrong with my claim.

Usually shows up in my account between 2-4am on Tuesday mornings. What bank do you have? Some are slower than others with processing Washington ESD deposits.

•I have Chase. They're usually pretty fast with other direct deposits.

•Chase should be fine. Check your claim status on your Washington ESD account to make sure it actually shows as paid.

Washington ESD typically releases payments around midnight on Tuesday but banks process them at different times. Credit unions are usually faster than big banks. If your claim shows paid in your account, the money is coming.

•It definitely shows paid in my Washington ESD account. I guess I'll just have to wait.

•Yeah, sometimes it takes until Wednesday morning depending on your bank's processing schedule.

I had issues with delayed deposits last month and couldn't get through to Washington ESD on the phone. The wait times were ridiculous - spent 3 hours on hold just to get hung up on. Finally used this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that actually got me through to an agent in about 20 minutes. They have a video demo showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ. Turned out my direct deposit info had somehow gotten corrupted and needed to be re-entered.

•That's exactly what I'm worried about! How much does that service cost?

•It's worth it when you need to actually talk to someone at Washington ESD. Way better than wasting entire days trying to call.

•Never heard of that before but might be worth trying if I can't get through the regular way.

This is exactly why I hate direct deposit for unemployment. At least with the debit card you knew when the money was there. Now it's this guessing game every week about when your bank will actually process the Washington ESD payment.

•The debit card had its own problems though. Remember all the fees and ATM issues?

Emma Thompson
•True but at least you could check the balance immediately when Washington ESD said it was paid.

•I never had the debit card option. Has direct deposit always been this unpredictable?

My credit union gets Washington ESD deposits around 6am Tuesday. Big banks like Wells Fargo and Bank of America seem to take longer. Maybe switch to a credit union if you can?

•I've been thinking about switching banks anyway. Which credit union do you use?

•BECU. They're really good with unemployment deposits and no fees for basic checking.

Had the same panic last week! Turns out my bank (US Bank) doesn't process Washington ESD deposits until Wednesday morning even though other direct deposits come Tuesday. Called the bank and they said it depends on when the originating bank releases the ACH transfer.

•That's so frustrating! You'd think they'd all process them the same way.

•Right? Especially when you're depending on that money for bills and groceries.

Washington ESD website says payments are issued within 2-3 business days of filing your weekly claim. So technically they have until Thursday to get it to you. But most people get it Tuesday or Wednesday.

•I didn't know they had that long. That makes me feel a little better.

•Yeah, they give themselves wiggle room but it's usually much faster than that.

Anyone else notice Washington ESD deposits coming later since they updated their system last year? Mine used to be like clockwork Tuesday at 3am, now it's all over the place.

Paolo Conti
•Yes! Mine used to be super consistent but now it varies between Tuesday and Wednesday.

•Same here. Really annoying when you're trying to budget and pay bills on time.

If you're really concerned about your deposit timing, you can always call Washington ESD to verify your direct deposit info is correct. Though good luck getting through - I tried calling 47 times yesterday and never got past the busy signal.

•That's exactly why I mentioned Claimyr earlier. Saved me so much time and frustration trying to reach Washington ESD.

•I might have to try that. This phone system is impossible.

•47 times?! That's insane. No wonder people are looking for alternatives.

Pro tip: if your deposit is more than 24 hours late, log into your Washington ESD account and check if there are any alerts or issues with your claim. Sometimes there's a flag that stops payment but they don't notify you.

Keisha Robinson
•Good idea! I checked and everything looks normal. Status still shows paid.

•Then it's probably just your bank being slow. Should hit your account soon.

I work at a bank (not gonna say which one) and I can tell you that unemployment deposits are processed in batches. Washington ESD sends them out but each bank has different processing times. Some do it immediately, others wait until their next scheduled ACH processing window.

Keisha Robinson
•That explains a lot! Any way to find out when your specific bank processes unemployment deposits?

Omar Hassan
•You can call your bank's customer service and ask about their ACH processing schedule for government deposits.

Update us when you get your deposit! I'm curious to see if Chase is consistently slow with Washington ESD payments or if this was just a one-time thing.

Keisha Robinson
•Will do! Hopefully it hits my account tomorrow morning.

•Yeah, I'm interested to hear too. I might switch from Chase if they're always this slow.

This whole thread is making me anxious about my own deposit now! I filed Sunday night too and still nothing in my account. At least I know I'm not alone.

Washington ESD really needs to give better information about deposit timing. Their website just says 'within 2-3 business days' which is way too vague when people are depending on this money.

Emma Thompson
•Agree 100%. They should at least tell you what time they release the payments.

CosmicCruiser
•Exactly. Other states give you specific timing information. Washington ESD acts like it's some big secret.

•It would definitely reduce anxiety if we knew exactly when to expect it.

Just want to add that if your deposit is significantly delayed (like more than a week), there might be an issue with your claim that needs to be resolved. I had to use that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier to get through to Washington ESD when my deposits stopped coming completely.

Keisha Robinson
•How long did it take them to fix whatever was wrong?
0 coins
Anastasia Fedorov
•Once I got through to an agent, they fixed it the same day. Turned out there was a flag on my account from a previous employer dispute.

GalaxyGazer
•See, this is exactly why Claimyr is so valuable. You can't fix problems you don't know about if you can't reach Washington ESD.

My unemployment deposits from Washington ESD always come at 2:47 AM on Tuesday. I know because I'm usually up feeding my baby at that time and I check my phone. Bank of America if anyone's curious.

For what it's worth, I switched from a big bank to a local credit union specifically because of slow unemployment deposits. Now I get my Washington ESD payments Tuesday morning like clockwork.

•Which credit union? I'm seriously considering switching after this experience.

•Numerica Credit Union. They're great for unemployment deposits and no monthly fees.
