What time does unemployment hit your account - Washington ESD payment timing?
Does anyone know what time Washington ESD deposits hit your bank account? I filed my weekly claim on Sunday and it's now Tuesday afternoon but still no payment. My claim shows as paid on the ESD website but my bank account is still empty. I'm stressed because I have bills due tomorrow and need to know if I should expect it today or tomorrow morning. Is there a specific time they usually deposit or does it vary by bank?

Usually hits my account around 2-3 AM on Tuesday or Wednesday depending on when you file your weekly claim. If you filed Sunday it should be there by Wednesday morning at the latest.

•Thanks! I filed Sunday evening so hopefully it shows up tomorrow morning. My anxiety is through the roof right now.

•Check your account early in the morning, like 5 AM. That's when mine usually shows up from Washington ESD.

It depends on your bank honestly. Chase and Bank of America tend to post Washington ESD deposits around midnight to 3 AM. Credit unions are usually faster, sometimes showing up Monday night if you filed Sunday. What bank are you with?

•I have Wells Fargo. They're usually pretty quick with direct deposits but this is my first time getting UI benefits.

•Wells Fargo is usually good, should be there by 3 AM Wednesday if it's not there already. Check again in the morning.

Are you sure your claim actually went through? Sometimes the website says 'paid' but there was an issue with the filing. I had this happen and had to call Washington ESD to fix it. Took me 3 hours on hold but they sorted it out.

•Oh no, how do I check if there was an issue? The website just says 'paid' for this week's claim.

•Log into your account and check the payment history section. It should show the exact amount and date. If something looks off, you might need to call. I used Claimyr.com to get through to someone at Washington ESD when I couldn't reach them directly - they have a service that helps you get connected to an agent. Saved me hours of calling.

•What's Claimyr? Never heard of it but I'm desperate to talk to someone at ESD about my claim status.

Mine varies between Tuesday 2 AM and Wednesday 6 AM. I think it depends on how busy their payment processing is that week. If Monday was a holiday it might be delayed a day too.

•No holidays this week so that's not it. Really hoping it shows up tomorrow morning.

Check if you have any holds or issues on your account. Sometimes Washington ESD puts a hold on payments for random verification stuff and doesn't always notify you right away.

•Where do I check for holds? I don't see anything obvious on my account dashboard.

•Go to the 'Correspondence' section and look for any messages. Also check under 'Claim Status' for any flags or alerts.

•Good advice. Also make sure your bank info is correct in your profile. I had a friend who had one digit wrong in their routing number and payments got delayed for weeks.

I always get mine Tuesday night around 11 PM - 1 AM. But I have a local credit union, they're usually faster than big banks for government deposits.

•Ugh I should have switched to a credit union. Wells Fargo is so slow with everything.

•Wells Fargo isn't that bad for unemployment deposits, you should see it by Wednesday morning latest.

Just to follow up on what I said earlier about calling - Claimyr really helped me. They have this system where you don't have to sit on hold for hours. You can watch their demo video at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ to see how it works. Might be helpful if your payment doesn't show up and you need to reach Washington ESD.

•That actually sounds really useful. I've been trying to call ESD for two weeks about my adjudication and can never get through.

•Is it expensive? I'm on unemployment so I don't have money for extra services right now.

•It's worth checking out their website at claimyr.com - they explain everything there. For me it was worth it to actually talk to someone rather than waste entire days calling.

Payment timing is so inconsistent. Sometimes I get it Monday night, sometimes Wednesday morning. Washington ESD needs to fix their payment system.

•Seriously! The uncertainty is the worst part when you're already stressed about money.

Pro tip: set up account alerts with your bank so you get a text when deposits hit. That way you're not constantly checking your account balance.

•That's a great idea! Setting that up right now.

•Yes! I do this and it saves so much stress. Usually get the alert around 3 AM Tuesday/Wednesday.

Just want to confirm - you filed your weekly claim properly and got the confirmation, right? Sometimes people think they filed but didn't complete all the steps.

Rajiv Kumar
•Yeah I got the confirmation screen and my claim status shows as 'paid' so I think it went through correctly.

•Then you should be good. Washington ESD payments usually hit within 48 hours of filing if everything is correct.

Mine comes Tuesday around 9 PM consistently. Bank of America. Been getting UI for 6 months now.

•Hopefully Wells Fargo is similar timing. Thanks for the info!

Is your claim still active? Sometimes they suspend payments if you miss a week or don't do your job search activities.

Rajiv Kumar
•Yeah I've been filing every week and doing my job searches. No issues that I know of.

Elijah Brown
•Good, just checking. The job search thing trips up a lot of people.

WASHINGTON ESD PAYMENTS ARE ALWAYS LATE! I swear they do it on purpose to stress us out. The system is broken.

•It's really frustrating when you're living paycheck to paycheck and can't predict when money will arrive.

•I think it's more about banking processing times than ESD intentionally delaying things, but I get the frustration.

First time I got UI it took 3 days to hit my account. Now it's always Tuesday night. Your bank just needs to learn the pattern I think.

•Hopefully that's all it is. This is only my second week getting benefits.

If you're really worried, you can always call your bank to see if they have any pending deposits. Sometimes they can tell you if something is coming even if it hasn't posted yet.

•Good idea! I'll try that if it's not there by tomorrow morning.

Going back to the Claimyr thing - I actually tried it last week and it really works. Got connected to a Washington ESD agent in like 20 minutes instead of calling for hours. Definitely recommend if you need to actually talk to someone about your claim.

•Ok that's two people who've recommended it now. I'm going to check it out.

•Good to know for future reference. Hopefully I won't need it but it's nice to know there's an option.

Probably just normal processing time. Don't stress too much, it should be there soon!

•Thanks for the reassurance. This waiting is killing me but sounds like it's normal.

My sister had the same issue her first few weeks. Now she gets paid like clockwork every Tuesday night. First few payments just take longer to establish the pattern.

Rajiv Kumar
•That makes me feel better. Hopefully after a few more weeks it'll be more predictable.

Set your expectations for Wednesday morning and you won't be disappointed. That's when most Wells Fargo customers I know get their Washington ESD deposits.
