What time does Washington ESD unemployment get deposited in 2023?
Does anyone know what time Washington ESD deposits unemployment benefits? I filed my weekly claim on Sunday and it's showing as paid but I haven't received the deposit yet. My bank usually processes ACH transfers early in the morning but I'm not seeing anything. Is there a specific time Washington ESD releases payments or does it vary by bank?

Washington ESD typically releases payments between 12:01 AM and 3:00 AM Pacific Time on Tuesdays for claims filed by Sunday night. However, your bank's processing time can add another 1-3 business days depending on their ACH schedule.

•Thanks! So if I filed Sunday night I should see it by Wednesday morning at the latest?

•Usually yes, but some banks hold ACH deposits until their next business day processing cycle.

•What bank do you use? I'm with Chase and still waiting.

•BECU, they're usually pretty fast with deposits

If you're having trouble getting through to Washington ESD to check your payment status, I recently discovered Claimyr.com - they help you actually reach an agent instead of getting the busy signal. There's a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works. Really helpful when you need to verify payment details.

•Never heard of that service before. Does it actually work for Washington ESD?

•Yeah, used it last week when my payment was delayed. Got through to an agent in about 20 minutes instead of calling for hours.

•Interesting, I'll have to check that out. I've been trying to reach Washington ESD for days about a payment issue.

Just FYI - if your claim shows 'paid' in your online account but you haven't received the deposit, there might be an issue with your banking information on file. This happened to me and I had to update my direct deposit details.

Sara Hellquiem
•How do you update the banking info? Is that something you can do online?

Carmella Fromis
•You have to call Washington ESD to change direct deposit information. Can't do it through the online portal for security reasons.

Washington ESD payment schedule is Tuesday mornings but I've noticed delays when there's a federal holiday on Monday. Did you check if there was a holiday this week?
0 coins
Sara Hellquiem
•No holidays this week that I know of. Maybe just a bank processing delay.

•Yeah sometimes banks are slower with government ACH transfers, especially smaller credit unions.

I'm having the same issue! Filed Sunday, shows paid on Monday, but no deposit yet. Starting to panic because rent is due tomorrow.

Charlee Coleman
•Don't panic yet - Tuesday is the standard deposit day. If you don't see it by Wednesday morning, then contact Washington ESD.

•Thanks, I'll try to stay calm. This is my first time on unemployment so everything makes me nervous.

•Totally understand the anxiety! Been there myself. The timing does get more predictable once you've been on UI for a while.

Chase Bank specifically can be slow with government deposits. I switched to a local credit union and now get my Washington ESD payments much faster - sometimes late Monday night.

Sara Hellquiem
•Really? I might need to look into switching banks then. Which credit union do you use?

AaliyahAli
•Sound Credit Union. They process ACH transfers twice daily so government payments come through quicker.

also make sure you actually certified for benefits this week, sometimes people forget to file their weekly claim and wonder why no payment lol

•Definitely filed - it shows as paid in my account. Just waiting for the actual deposit now.

•Good point though, I've forgotten to certify before and spent hours wondering where my payment was!

For what it's worth, Washington ESD's payment processing has been more reliable since they updated their systems in 2022. Used to be much more unpredictable timing-wise.

Raúl Mora
•Agreed, the old system was a nightmare. At least now we can track payment status online.

Sara Hellquiem
•That's reassuring to hear. I was worried something was wrong with my claim.

If you need to speak with Washington ESD about payment timing or any delays, that Claimyr service I mentioned earlier really does help cut through the phone queue. Worth trying if you can't get through on your own.

•I was skeptical about Claimyr at first but tried it when I had an adjudication issue. Actually got through to a real person at Washington ESD instead of the usual runaround.

•Definitely bookmarking that for future reference. The Washington ESD phone system is impossible most days.

One more thing to check - if you recently moved or changed banks, make sure Washington ESD has your current information. Payments can get delayed or returned if there's a mismatch.

Sara Hellquiem
•Haven't moved or changed banks, so that shouldn't be the issue. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Evelyn Kim
•Yeah, address changes can definitely mess up direct deposit timing. Learned that the hard way.

Tuesday morning deposits are pretty standard but I've seen delays during high-volume periods. Like when there's mass layoffs in the area and lots of new claims being processed.

Diego Fisher
•That makes sense. The whole system probably gets overloaded when there's a big employer shutdown.
0 coins
Sara Hellquiem
•Haven't heard about any major layoffs lately, so hopefully that's not the issue.

UPDATE: Just wanted to let everyone know that calling Washington ESD directly is basically impossible right now due to call volume. If you really need to reach them about payment issues, you might want to try that Claimyr thing people mentioned.

•The phone situation is ridiculous. Spent 3 hours yesterday trying to get through.

•Exactly why I started using Claimyr - saves so much time and frustration dealing with Washington ESD's phone system.

Just checked my account and my payment from Sunday's claim just hit my bank account about an hour ago. So they're definitely processing today's batch.

•Still nothing on my end but good to know they're processing payments today.

Pro tip: set up text alerts with your bank for deposits. That way you know immediately when your Washington ESD payment hits instead of constantly checking your balance.

Sara Hellquiem
•Great idea! I'll set that up right now.

Sometimes Washington ESD holds payments if there's any issue with your job search activities or work search log. Did you submit all your job contacts for the week?
0 coins
Sara Hellquiem
•Yes, I logged all my job search activities. The claim shows as paid so I don't think that's the issue.
0 coins
Faith Kingston
•Good point though - forgetting to log job searches can definitely delay payments.

If you're really worried about the deposit timing, you could always switch to the Washington ESD debit card option. Those payments usually post faster than ACH direct deposits.
0 coins
Sara Hellquiem
•I prefer direct deposit but might consider the card if delays become a regular problem.
0 coins
Emma Johnson
•The debit card has fees though, so direct deposit is usually better if you can wait an extra day.

FINAL UPDATE: My deposit just came through! Looks like Washington ESD was just running a bit behind today. Thanks everyone for the help and reassurance.

For anyone still waiting, don't stress too much. Washington ESD payments can take up to 3 business days from the 'paid' status depending on your bank's processing schedule.

•Thanks for the reminder. I'll give it until Thursday before I start worrying again.

Just as another resource, if anyone needs to verify payment details or check on deposit status, the Claimyr service mentioned earlier (claimyr.com) has been really helpful for actually getting through to Washington ESD representatives.

Olivia Garcia
•I'll definitely bookmark that. The regular Washington ESD phone line is completely useless.

•Good to have options for when calling directly doesn't work. Thanks for the reminder.
