What time does Washington ESD deposit unemployment money into bank accounts?
Does anyone know what time Washington ESD actually deposits the unemployment payments? I filed my weekly claim on Sunday and it says processed but I still don't see the money in my checking account. My bank usually shows deposits pretty quickly so I'm wondering if there's a specific time they send out the payments. Is it like 3am or do they do it during business hours?

Washington ESD typically processes payments on Tuesday nights, but the actual deposit time depends on your bank. Most people see it Wednesday morning between 2-6 AM. If you filed Sunday, it should be there by now unless there's an issue with your claim.

From my experience, Washington ESD processes payments overnight and they usually show up in my account between 3-6 AM on Tuesday mornings. But it can vary depending on your bank's processing time.

•It's pretty consistent for me, always early Tuesday morning. Sometimes I see it as early as 2 AM if I'm up late.

From my experience, Washington ESD typically processes deposits overnight on Tuesday/Wednesday after you file your weekly claim on Sunday. Most banks show the deposit by Wednesday morning, but some credit unions might take until Thursday.

I've been getting UI for 8 months now and it's always Wednesday morning for me. But there have been a few times where Washington ESD had processing delays and payments came Thursday instead. Check your SecureAccess Washington account to see if the payment shows as issued.

•It says issued on my SAW account but bank account is still empty. This is making me panic.

•If SAW says issued then it's probably just your bank being slow. Give it until end of day.

It depends on your bank too. I have Wells Fargo and mine always shows up Tuesday night around midnight. My friend has Chase and hers doesn't show until Wednesday afternoon sometimes.

When I had issues like this I tried calling Washington ESD but could never get through. Spent hours on hold just to get disconnected. Then I found this service called Claimyr at claimyr.com that actually got me connected to an agent in like 10 minutes. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ showing how it works. Might be worth trying if you need to talk to someone at Washington ESD about your payment.

I had this same panic last month when my deposit was late! Turns out Washington ESD had put my claim into adjudication without telling me. Check your account on the ESD website to make sure your claim actually processed and wasn't flagged for review.

Cynthia Love
•Oh no, how do I check that? I logged into my account and it just says 'processed' for last week's claim.

Mateusius Townsend
•If it says processed you should be fine. When mine was in adjudication it showed a different status. You're probably just dealing with bank timing.

•Exactly right. 'Processed' means Washington ESD sent the payment. The delay is on the banking side at this point.

I was having the same issue with getting through to Washington ESD to check on payment timing. Spent hours on hold trying to reach someone. Washington ESD sends out ACH payments in batches overnight Monday into Tuesday. The exact time depends on your financial institution's processing schedule. Most people see deposits between 12:01 AM and 6:00 AM Pacific Time on Tuesday mornings. If you don't see it by Wednesday morning, there might be an issue with your payment.

•Good to know about the Wednesday deadline. What kind of issues could delay a payment?

For what it's worth, I track all my UI payments and Washington ESD has been pretty consistent. Filed Sunday by midnight, payment issued Tuesday, deposit Wednesday morning. Only had 2 delays in the past 6 months and both were explained by system maintenance.

THE TIMING IS ALWAYS DIFFERENT! I've been on unemployment twice and both times the deposits came at random times. Sometimes Tuesday, sometimes Thursday. Washington ESD needs to get their act together with consistent timing.

The Washington ESD payment schedule is generally: Weekly claims filed by Sunday → Payment processed Monday/Tuesday → Direct deposit arrives Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. However, holidays can delay this by a day, and different banks post ACH deposits at different times.

I've been dealing with Washington ESD for months and getting through to someone on the phone is nearly impossible. If you run into any payment issues, I found this service called Claimyr that actually got me connected to an agent in under 10 minutes. Why does Washington ESD make everything so complicated?? Other states deposit on different days, some do Wednesdays. Tuesday morning is weird timing imo.

Banking industry perspective here - ACH deposits from government agencies like Washington ESD typically post between 12:01 AM and 6:00 AM on the effective date. Your bank's policy determines the exact timing within that window.
