ESD weekly claim processed late - payment delay normal?

UPDATE: It finally processed and I got paid. It was just a day later than normal..... Has anyone else experienced a delay with their weekly claim processing this week? I filed on Sunday like I always do, but it's still showing as 'pending' in my eServices account. Usually by Tuesday afternoon it shows as 'paid' and the money hits my account Wednesday morning. It's now Wednesday and no updates at all. No messages about issues needing resolution either. Is the ESD system running behind? Should I be worried or just wait it out? This is my 7th week claiming and it's the first time there's been a delay.

dont worry, its probably just a glitch in there system. mine was late 2x last month. ESD computers are so old they probably run on coal lol

Thanks, that's reassuring! Did you do anything to get it resolved or did it just process on its own eventually?

The SAME EXACT THING is happening to me right now!! Filed Sunday, still says pending, and NOTHING in my account! This is the 3rd time in 4 months. ESD is absolutely WORTHLESS when it comes to consistency. I bet they're doing some kind of 'system update' again without bothering to tell anyone. Last time I called, I was on hold for 2.5 HOURS only to be told 'just wait, it'll process eventually.' Ridiculous!!

Ugh, that's frustrating! How long did it take to process last time this happened to you?

Last time it took THREE EXTRA DAYS! No explanation, no apology, just suddenly showed up as paid. And of course by then I was late on my phone bill. They act like we're not depending on this money to SURVIVE.

This is fairly normal, especially at the beginning of a quarter or after holidays. ESD has processing backlogs sometimes. A one to two-day delay usually isn't cause for concern unless you've received a disqualification notice or have an adjudication issue flagged in your account. If it goes longer than 3 business days from your normal payment date, that's when I'd recommend contacting them. But in my experience helping others with claims, these temporary delays usually resolve themselves.

Thank you for the insight! There aren't any holidays this week but maybe they're just backed up. I'll give it until Friday before I start worrying too much.

I had this happen and it turned out there was an issue with my job search activities even though the system didn't tell me. Might want to double check that you properly logged your 3 required activities for the week. Sometimes the system is weird about recognizing them correctly.

I'm pretty sure I entered my job search activities correctly, but I'll go back and check to make sure. Thanks for the suggestion!

If it goes beyond Friday, I'd recommend using Claimyr to get through to an ESD agent quickly. I was in the same boat last month - claim stuck for a week with no explanation. Was about to lose my mind trying to call ESD directly. Found this service at claimyr.com and they got me connected to an agent in about 20 minutes instead of spending days trying to get through. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 Turns out there was a small verification issue that the agent fixed in 5 minutes. Money was in my account the next day.

Thanks for the recommendation! If it's not resolved by Friday I'll definitely check that out. Getting through to an actual person seems impossible these days.

Just wanted to share that I had this exact situation two weeks ago. My payment was delayed by 3 days with no explanation. When I finally got through to someone (after calling 47 times), they said they're implementing a new fraud detection system that occasionally flags claims for additional review even when there's nothing wrong. The agent told me they're dealing with a huge increase in fraud attempts this quarter so some legitimate claims are getting caught in the system. If your claim history has been consistent, it should process soon.

Oh interesting! That actually makes a lot of sense. I did change jobs recently so maybe that triggered something in their system. Thanks for sharing your experience!

mine is late too but i'm on standby status so i don't have to do job search i wonder if that makes a difference? anyone else on standby having delays?

Standby status shouldn't affect payment timing. The processing timeframes should be the same regardless of whether you're on standby or doing regular job search activities. It sounds like there might be a broader processing delay at ESD this week based on multiple reports.

UPDATE: It finally processed and I got paid. It was just a day later than normal. Thanks everyone for the reassurance and suggestions! I was getting worried for nothing. For anyone else experiencing delays, it seems like it's just taking ESD a bit longer than usual this week.
