ESD website not showing weekly claim filing option - system glitch?

I'm totally confused and starting to panic. I logged into my ESD account today to file my weekly claim like I always do, but there's no option to file anywhere on the dashboard. I've been on unemployment for about 5 weeks now and never had this problem before. I've tried logging out and back in, tried using both my phone and laptop, even cleared my browser cache, but still nothing. The 'file weekly claim' button that's normally there is just gone. Has anyone else run into this issue? Could my benefits have ended without notification? I really need this week's payment to cover my rent that's due next Friday!!

This happened to me last month. There are a few possible reasons: 1. If it's not your regular filing day yet (the system assigns you a specific day based on your SSN) 2. If there was a holiday that shifted the schedule 3. If your benefit year ended (check your claim summary page for this) 4. If you have an unresolved issue that's put a hold on your claim Check your notices/letters in your ESD account. Sometimes they send messages through there rather than email. Also, check your claim status - if it shows "disqualified" or "pending adjudication" that could explain why the filing option disappeared.

Thanks for the suggestions! I checked and my benefit year hasn't ended, it's definitely my filing day (Sunday), and I don't see any new messages. The status still says "active" but there's nothing about adjudication. It's like the website just glitched out on me specifically. I'm getting really stressed because I can't afford to miss a payment.

I looked everywhere! Scrolled all the way down, clicked every tab, even tried the mobile view. Nothing. It's like they just removed that option from my account specifically. 😫

This is most likely what we call a "claim status desynchronization" issue. Basically the system thinks you've already filed or there's another technical problem. You need to speak with an ESD agent directly to reset your claim portal. Unfortunately, as you probably know, getting through to ESD on the phone is extremely difficult. After waiting on hold for hours myself last year, I found a service called Claimyr that connects you with an ESD agent quickly. You can check out how it works at claimyr.com or watch their demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 Once you get an agent, specifically tell them you're experiencing a "weekly claim filing option not appearing" issue. They'll need to look at the backend of your claim and potentially reset something on their end.

Thank you for explaining what's happening! I was worried my claim had been canceled somehow. I'll try reaching ESD directly - if I can't get through after a couple attempts I might try that Claimyr service. The video makes it look pretty straightforward. I just need this fixed ASAP since rent is coming up fast.

DONT PANIC! The EXACT same thing happened to me last week. The stupid ESD website is ALWAYS having problems!! I couldn't file for like 3 days and was freaking out. Then suddenly on Wednesday the option just appeared again with no explanation. You might want to wait a day and check again before going through the hassle of calling them.

Really? That gives me some hope! I'll check again tomorrow morning. Still makes me nervous to just wait though... did you end up getting paid on time even with the delay?

Yep, payment came through normal time once I was able to file. Just delayed by a few days. ESD's website is seriously the WORST.

Another possibility is that if you reported earnings above a certain threshold on your previous weekly claim, the system might temporarily stop offering the filing option. This happened to me when I picked up a one-week contract job. The system couldn't properly calculate my partial benefit and needed manual review. If none of the other suggestions work, you absolutely need to contact ESD directly. When you do get through, make sure they check: 1. Your claim status in their internal system (not just what you see) 2. Whether there are any pending issues not visible to you 3. If your account needs a technical reset Document the date/time you first noticed this issue, any steps you've taken, and the name of any agent you speak with. This documentation helps if there's any delay in your payment.

That's interesting - I did report some earnings two weeks ago from a small side gig, but it was well under my weekly benefit amount. Could that still cause this problem? I'll definitely document everything like you suggested.

I haven't tried checking after midnight - that's a good idea! I'll set an alarm and try then. Really hoping it's just a temporary glitch.

UPDATE: I finally got through to ESD this morning! Turns out there was a system-wide issue affecting some accounts that started yesterday. The agent was able to reset something on their end, and now the file weekly claim button is back! She said I should file right away since I'm already a day late. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions!

Great news! Glad you got it resolved. For future reference, you have until Saturday of the following week to file your weekly claim before it becomes "late," though it's always best to file on your assigned day if possible. Make sure to document that this was a system issue in case there are any payment delays.

@profile7 I actually tried the Claimyr service someone mentioned above. Got connected in about 20 minutes instead of waiting for hours. Definitely worth it for this emergency, but hopefully I won't need to call again anytime soon!
